I was very apprehensive about having a mastectomy. After my consultation with Mr Chakravorty, I felt I was in extremely good hands and this made me feel a lot more comfortable about having my operation. After the operation I was very pleased with the result as the scar is not very noticeable, I also did not suffer any pain, which was one of my main concerns. Mr Chakravorty and all the staff at Bushey Spire were brilliant and I had the most wonderful care. I have no hesitation about recommending Mr Chakravorty to anyone who needs breast surgery. I was very fortunate to have been recommended to him in the first place.

I recently saw Mr C at his “one stop shop” breast clinic at BMI Bishopswood. As a concept this is inspired; providing a much more efficient use of time and significantly reducing anxiety for the patient. I was able to have an initial consultation, a mammo and ultrasound with results given immediately and then a follow up consultation in a period of about a couple of hours. And on a Saturday which meant not having to worry about fitting it into the working day. It was the first time I had met Mr C and I was immediately struck by how empathetic he was and how astute he was in reading my emotional state. Maybe I have been unlucky but having a good bedside manner has been relatively unusual amongst the consultants I have met and it does sometimes feel that there is an inverse relationship between their empathy levels and their professional experience, but not so with Mr C. He was warm and reassuring throughout the whole process and answered my questions patiently. After my visit he sent out a letter asking for feedback so that he could continue to improve the care he gives which I thought was fantastic and a reinforcement of how seriously he takes the pastoral care of his patients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a specialist in this area and he is definitely going on my preferred suppliers list when it comes to healthcare. The only thing that would have made this experience even more perfect would have been the ability to have had a smear test at the same time so that those women using the one stop clinic as a preventative care option could also get their regular smear tests done as well.

I had superb care when I recently had an operation by Mr Chakravorty. His whole manner and the way he explained the operation was absolutely first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending him as a Breast surgeon.

Mr Chakravorty has operated on me twice for breast cancer. I was diagnosed in January 2018 and had 4 lymph nodes removed for testing before I began chemotherapy. I had no pain, discomfort or swelling from this surgery, I actually managed to go for a long walk the next day. After chemotherapy Mr Chakravorty operated again to remove the remainder of my tumour with clear margins. Again I had no pain or discomfort after surgery not needing any painkillers. The cosmetic result is amazing, after two weeks I can hardly see the scar and the shape of my breast is almost as it was. This outcome was far beyond my expectations. Mr Chakravorty and all the team at Spire Bushey Hospital have been great, I have been very well looked after and consider myself very lucky to have had such great care.

I have seen Dr Chakravorty at the Oaks hospital in Colchester on a number of occasions over the last 2 months and he recently performed surgery (major duct excision). Having lost a friend to breast cancer I knew how important it was to get some unusual symptoms checked. I found Dr Chekravorty both very professional, happy to answer all questions and caring. He took the time to meet with me immediately prior to surgery, in recovery and when I was back on the ward so very supportive. I am very happy with the result and appearance following surgery.
