I had an ongoing problem with leaking legs for well over a year. At worst the dressings needed to be changed five times a day. Fortunately, I was referred to Mr Adam Howard at The Oaks Hospital, Colchester in September 2022. Mr Howard suggested a SIGVARIS wrap for my left leg. When I saw him for a follow up appointment, he suggested a compression sock on my right leg as well. Best thing possible was to see Mr Howard, such a helpful and understanding consultant. My legs have now completely healed. A district nurse was coming daily to dress my legs, over recent weeks with SIGVARIS wrap and socks my legs improved and today the district nurse has been discharged. I suggested to the team leader, who came today, to encourage anyone who has an ulcerated leg to give SIGVARIS a try. Elizabeth Kettle 25th January 2023

The hospital was nice, light and airy. It did not feel clinical and so I felt relaxed. All staff were very friendly and communication has been good.

The care I received from the Surgeon to the care staff and hospitality staff was exceptional. Aftercare was also exceptional from the gym to the Consultation phone calls. Could not fault anything. Thank you.

I would recommend this hospital to anyone. The night staff were brilliant and if you asked nicely you can get a mug for your tea.

Only yesterday I had my gall bladder removed and I can't commend the hospital enough. From start to finish the procedure was flawless. Starting with the outpatient nurses with the blood tests, the pre op and post op nursing staff, Mr Tutton the surgeon and the anestheist, everything was explained in a very reassuring and comforting way and made me very relaxed. The care and attention was outstanding even down to a member of the catering staff delivering my sandwich and tea when I wanted it and not when they wanted me to have it. I can't extend my appreciation enough. Also I wasn't a private patient, this was NHS. Thank you.

I was booked in for colenocaphy. Today I did the unpleasant prep which consisted of laxatives and fasting I attended my appointment.on time though I attended the surgion did not. The resection was apologetic but could give no idea of when ir if surgion was coming There were people who had been waiting before me. I decided to go home as I had hardly eaten in 48 hours not at all in 24. I feel really let down as both myself and my son had taken time of work for this.
