I had bowel cancer surgery in January 2014 at Furness General. Prior to the operation the thoroughness of Miss Patel gave me great confidence in her. She visited me every day during my hospital stay and addressed any concerns immediately. Upon discharge it was very reassuring to know that if I experienced a problem during the first few weeks then I would be readmitted to the ward immediately under Miss Patels care. The specialist nurse, Suzanne Thompson, has also been very helpful whenever I have had a query. Many thanks to Miss Patel and her team.

I have been a patient of Miss Patel and her team for around ten years, during which time I have been very lucky to have excellent care and attention.On having an ileostomy operation I was very fortunate in having such a skilful and dedicated team around me led by Miss Patel, who certainly knows her profession. I feel so lucky to have had Miss Patel as my consultant over the passed five years, from my diagnosis of colon cancer in 2010 to my discharge this month she has always been incredibly kind and caring. All my questions were answered and fears allayed which instilled such confidence in both me and my wife. Following my operation she visited me in the ward everyday, seven days a week, no question that she is totally dedicated to her job. She made what was a very scary time for us both more bearable and we will always be grateful.
