Dr Vijay has been my chosen GP for the last year or so. I must say that I have never experienced a GP who puts patient care on top of his list of priorities. He is no only empathetic, but also listens to what you have to say. Quite often than not when you visit your GP you are rushed as they have other patients to see and this can often make you feel uncomfortable with explaining in detail why you are there. Dr Vijay is a real asset to this practice. Keep up the excellent work, I'm sure many patients who visit you echo the same words as myself. Many thanks

Thank you so much for your kind words. Your feedback gives me hope as I frequently wish I could spend even more time listening and perhaps less time on the computer. I do try not to rush, but unfortunately it does mean that I often end up running late in surgery...which I realise is not great for patients either. Please let me know at any time if you feel I could do something differrently. Regards Dr Shanker Vijayadeva

Good doctor. Listened to my problem and managed to help me. He understood what I was going through even though the problem I was having was very rare, he seemed to understand and help me out. Very chilled and collective.

Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you felt I was able to understand and help you. I am not sure if I am always chilled enough (especially when running late in surgery!) but I will endeavour to keep up (and improve) the qualities you mention. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback, Regards Dr Shanker Vijayadeva

It would be helpful if the receptionist could give their name when answering calls and to ensure that any action required or follow up notes are written on the patients records. Would be really good for GPs could be more empathetic and not just matter of fact. Overall I am happy with the service I have received over the last years and majority of the staff are very helpful especially the nurses.

Thank for providing your feedback on the practice. I am glad that overall you are happy with the practice and there is always room for improvement. Please consider contacting the Practice Manager or the practice's Patient Participation Group (you can find contact details on the Practice Newsletters on the practice's website) so that we can understand more about your experiences and consider what steps might help improve future experiences for all patients. On a personal note, I agree that sometimes I could be more empathetic and less matter of fact. Thanks again for taking the time to leave your feedback, Dr Shanker Vijayadeva

I consider Dr Vijayadeva to be an invaluable doctor with high professional standards. I became ill in April of 2014 and was not very impressed with the apparent lack of interest of my then current doctor. When this doctor was away on leave I met Dr Vijayadeva and was overwhelmed at how he did everything in his power to make sure I was seen by the appropriate specialist. Due to my complicated symptoms it was not easy, but meanwhile, Dr Vijayadeva persevered until a diagnosis explained the reason for the months of illness I had gone through. Dr Vijayadeva was someone I could talk to about my concerns, he would always listen attentively. I knew he cared because he just would not give up. He patiently explained things to me and was always there for me. He fought my corner. I will be forever grateful to Dr Vijayadeva for his exemplary practise as a GP. I consider myself fortunate to have been under his care.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to leave me this review. I miss working at Cloister Road Surgery but had to move to work at a surgery closer to my home to help with morning school runs. I am touched by your comments and I am not sure I deserve all the credit! I will also be forever grateful that I can look at your comments at any time to remind me and motivate me that our efforts can make a difference and be appreciated. I hope you are keeping well. Kind regards Dr Shanker Vijayadeva
