A First class professional service from Dr Peter Standen who assessed my husband on Acute Assessment Unit, James Cook Hospital! I couldn’t have asked for a more caring doctor, he has a wonderful bedside manner and was lovely to my husband, who was very poorly and confused! Thank goodness for NHS, what would we do without you! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience after my husband was admitted by ambulance in a very serious condition. He is still very poorly, but I couldn’t ask for more than the care he is currently receiving at James Cook Hospital.

Dr Standen turned around our experience of the NHS after an horrific experience with some of the staff at James Cook A&E (which we will be following up) His bedside manner was unparalleled amongst the many Dr's I've had dealings withwith over the years. He demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, knowledge and efficiency but most significantly his warm empathetic and gentle approach was instrumental in calming my wife down and restoring my wifes sense of dignity after a very distressing outbreak of Crohns. In all honesty I cannot thank this brilliant man enough and would have preferred to have done so personally. Dr Standen - thankyou so much - you looked after my wife in ways I couldn't and I left home with a reassuring sense that she was in the best hands. Godbless you
