I have had great care by the staff in this hospital. They are focused on patients and work very hard to achieve the best outcomes. I have had experiences with the spinal team, the pain clinic, the well women clinic, x-ray department, MRI Unit, Breast Screening and never experienced anything but great service. A real credit to the NHS.

I was called in for a Colonoscopy after having two bowel cancer test results come back with abnormal results I was called for a meeting a few days after sending the second specimen back in with a young man who explained exactly what they needed to do I could not believe how quickly the team acted I then went in and had the colonoscopy done the team on this unit were absolutely fantastic they could not have done more they were professional, caring , explained everything as they went along in detail so there was nothing to worry about with a hint of humour which was needed at times. When the procedure was over once again the team were excellent explaining what the next steps were I received a phone call the following morning to check if I was ok which I was Then the following day I got my biopsys results back which were also ok Although I was surprised at the results coming back so quickly I could not praise the Colonescopy team enough if I had gone private the treatment could not have been faster or better We hear far to many negative comments about our NHS Hospitals This team are a Five Star Service and they need to hear it from my self and others Thank You To Everyone who was involved in my Treatment

After elbow surgery in November 2017 I developed infection and was readmitted to ward 33. After a week I was discharged with a pico dressing and have visited the orthopedic dressings clinic for the last six month. I have just been discharged with a now settled wound. The care that I received from all the staff on the ward and the dressing team was excellent and can't thank them all enough. The team pursavied to change the pico dressings and have shown great care and patience monitoring the wound every week. We eventually got there! Thanks again to the team and especially Martha who whent the extra mile. Many thanks, John Cowan

The NHS Is a fantastic organisation who are just ran off their feet. The only negative aspect of my short experience was the constant high level of noise.

2 years ago they put a do not resusitate ate order on my dad without his or family knowledge after complaining to chief exec was told never happen again and be discussed with family yesterday they done it to my mother in law without consent or ours just before transferred to Hartlepool stating her co morbidities make her unsuitable for CPR she has mild COPD partially sighted hard of hearing and 82 seems like they want older people to die if you have relative here ask if DNR on file before it's too late I agree with euthanasia in certain circumstances but let's hope never legal the way this hospital abuses DNR maybe it's to save cash to extend the chief execs mini golf coarse in his office

I can only praise the orthopaedic department. I do wish that the waiting time was not as long but I do understand different peoples circumstances and some patients can take longer to deal with

Some A&E staff are deliberately provocative to you when you question aspects of your care. On occassion they fail to prioritise waiting patients. Some medical staff are unreceptive to carer/patient explanations of their health condition and respond very negatively to written input FROM THEIR OWN COLLEAGUES! Little actual CARE is in evidence. The nursing standards on wards can be appalling with a patient in severe pain being ignored. Nurses talking between themselves about relatives and patients in negative terms. Staff failing to provide simple pain relief on a prescribed timely basis. The Hospital pays lip service to standards but fails to answer specific written complaints. I would describe it as a dreadful Organisation except for the fact that it has no recognisable management and therefore doesnt qualify as an Organisation at all !!
