My journey into my ADHD/Neurodivergent diagnosis has not been an easy one. I spent most of my life thinking that there's something different about me. Could it be ADHD? I could never apply myself long enough to discover that answer. It was such a struggle. When the pandemic hit I made a concerted effort to push forwards. I finally did. I received my official diagnosis. At 38. It was cathartic and beyond validating. Finally.
Then the next step began as I started my titration with new medications. That's when I met Salma. I can't offer enough words of praise for how amazing she is at her job. Genuine empathy, consistently reliable. A true credit to her craft and Psychiatry UK. It's been an absolute pleasure. Now, I feel like a far better version of myself. And Salma has helped me every step of the way.
She listened throughout at the process, and when I had embarrassing side-effects it was dealt with without it feeling so. Methodical, caring and was able to explain everything clearly to me, made me feel very comfortable with the whole process.
Salma has been so great during my titration process and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She took all my concerns seriously and listened to me every step of the way. I feel as though she really supported me through the process and answered all my questions. Overall I am extremely grateful for all of her help.
Very personable but also absolutely knowledgeable and professional. Created a reliable and trustworthy atmosphere. Very reliable and quick to respond. Any queries were responded to in a timely and appropriate fashion. Clear communication, and good at explaining. All this with the added difficulty of online communication only.
The service is very good, however I think a much more in depth assessment would have benefitted myself. I'm very grateful for the recognition of my condition but think it has been rather a generic diagnosis based on only 2 one hour online meetings.

Profile
Hello I’m Salma! I’m a pharmacist and I have been on the register with the General Pharmaceutical Council for 15 years now. I studied at the School of Pharmacy, University of London and graduated in 2005. I registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2006 and I have gone on to gain my Independent Prescribing qualification from Robert Gordon University in 2016 as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice in 2017. I started my career as a pharmacist traveling all over the South East of England as a locum working in a range of different settings, from Methadone clinics to Nursing homes, and more community pharmacies that I can count! I have worked in a London mental health hospital for over five years now where I manage a busy pharmacy. I have gained vast experience with patients in an inpatient and outpatient mental health setting. I have a keen interest in the psychopharmacology of mental health conditions, especially ADHD and I enjoy being a small part of a patient’s journey when undergoing treatment for the first time. When I’m not surrounded by drugs I enjoy baking and clay pigeon shooting.
