Carol was my prescribing and titrating nurse following my ADHD diagnosis. She was professional, helpful and knowledgeable, and always got back to me on the same day when I had questions, even at the weekend. She had lots of helpful hints and tips, both for managing side effects of my medication and also about using supermarket pharmacies instead of my usual independent one, as they have lower rates for private prescriptions. This saved me about £40 on each prescription. I felt supported and safe starting medication under her guidance. I'm a nurse myself, so am aware of how to find and interpret the basic information, but Carol went above and beyond in her specialist knowledge and support and I knew I could trust her with complete confidence. I thoroughly recommend her services.

I completely echo others recommendations and positives of working with Carol as my titration nurse. She was quick to respond, listened to my concerns, gave good advice. Was supportive and flexible and knowledgeable. She also didn’t hesitate to pick up the phone for a real conversation when it was easier than interpreting my rambles and queries. Many thanks for your care, advice & support.

I've had a great experience with Carol as my nurse. Every time I've had a query she's replied quickly and written in such a direct and concise way that made things that much clearer for me to understand, and alleviated any worry I might have regarding my diagnosis. I'm extremely thankful to how understanding she has been and feel fortunate for the service provided as the uncertainty around my diagnosis and my forgetfulness made it easy to worry. I would hope to convey the competence she displayed in being under her care and would recommend this to others, as I felt like I was in good hands. Thank you, Carol.

Carol was great! Very quick to respond, clear in explaining anything I wasn't clear on, and open to discussion, so I felt both in control of the process but also as though I had the right level of guidance.

Carol took me through the titration process for ADHD medication and I found her to be extremely efficient and professional throughout the whole process. It took a while to find the correct medication and dosage and she was patient with me throughout the process, and very organised in getting everything sent out on time, and she also advised me on talking to the pharmacist. Absolutely no complaints, really great process from start to end. Really well organised, efficient, friendly, and the one issue we had on the web portal was sorted out really quickly and without fuss.

Profile

I am a registered nurse prescriber. I started my journey as a mental health nurse by completing the recognised nursing course in the UK. Since qualifying as a nurse in 2011, I have worked in acute inpatient and community settings. I have helped pioneered the start of an NHS Adult ADHD service in 2011 and developed the service together with a Consultant Psychiatrist and provided a nurse led service for adults. Since 2011, I have participated in training conferences to help train other clinicians who were planning to start an adult ADHD service in their locality or those who have just started working in an adult ADHD service. I have given talks about the nurse led Adult ADHD service that I have helped pioneered in conferences/training sessions.

I was voted Clinician of The Year in 2017 in the NHS Trust I was working with, and this reflects my dedication and commitment to continue to develop my nursing practice and deliver the best nursing intervention to those in need.
