Andrew is very easy and friendly to talk with and I was completely at ease throughout my consultation with him. It became very clear during our conversation that he is passionate about his job, a caring personality and has an excellent knowledge of his speciality.
All of which made me feel relaxed with him and assured I was in excellent hands.

Not all of the stoma nurses are any way as good as this . The stoma nurse who altered the quantities on the produce I use I would not recommend , trust and if I knew who it was I certainly would not listen to them .

Very down to earth practical advise and offered a video call. Andrew also provided an email address should I have any further concerns. He also sent further emails to confirm information given to me and to let me know the new products he had sent out.

I found Andrew very helpful and caring and easy to talk to. I have met Andrew an a few occasions and always found him quite respectful. Yesterday he put me at ease as I was worried about my stoma area and the problems it was causing . I am now more confident.

I was having a lot of pain and didn't where to go. I contacted Andrew and he listened to my problems, gave some advice to give some relief and said he would contact my consultant. I had a consultation with my consultant within the week, which would never have happened without his intervention. His advice was also very helpful.

Profile
Andrew became a Registered Nurse in 2002 and has since gained experience within colorectal surgery, critical care and pain management before taking on the role of Lead Stoma Care Nurse at the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham in 2015.
Since then, he has worked with ostomates, nurses, industry and support groups towards improving the lives of those living with a stoma. He has been involved with Association of Stoma Care Nurses UK (ASCN) as an area representative and with the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET) scientific committee prior to becoming Honorary Treasurer for ASCN in 2019 and Chair in 2022.
Andrew was awarded the British Journal of Nursing Stoma Care Nurse of the Year award 2019 for his work in developing a seven day stoma care service at the QMC. 2019 also saw Andrew become the Clinical Lead for Connect Prescription Services at Fittleworth Medical Limited.
