I was admitted to A&E and then transferred to Bersham Ward. During my time in the ward I received fantastic care. The Doctors, Nursing Staff and physiotherapy were very caring and respectful. The ward was clean and was pleased to see a good security system in place. The nursing staff did not congregate around the nursing station as i have seen in other hospital's and not gossiping about what they did the night before. Very professionally run ward. Thank you all for your support and hard work. Last but not least no car parking charges!! and a wonderfully run cafe. Tea was perfect. Thank you volunteers.

I went to A&E late afternoon on Friday 21 September. Every staff member was professional and kind to me, from the lady on Reception when we first arrived, to the Doctor and Nurse who looked after me when I eventually got in to treatment. One MASSIVE exception was the triage nurse; she was quite clearly in a bad mood when she called me in (along with my husband). I had been referred there by my GP and was already tearful and distressed. From the moment I sat down she was abrupt with me and her questioning was aggressive. She even shouted at me on one occasion because I had dithered when I answered a question. My husband and I were gobsmacked. When I went back to the waiting room I felt even worse. I really think this lady needs to work on her "people skills". Apart from her, everyone else was thorough, professional and kind to me.

I attended A + E at the weekend and have nothing but praise for the way I was treated from the moment I went to reception, through the triage nurse, the preparatory and completing nursing staff and especially the doctor in attendance, she was interested enough to not only to provide the procedure [catheter] but to make arrangements for follow up tests. Every ones caring attitude to my plight was beyond a simple THANKS. And this was during a busy [sports injury] time, but the care and smiles continued throughout, they should be very proud of themselves.

My dad was taken to ever-changing with a chest infection. After waiting for hours in a and e he was taken to evington ward where he was put into a side room. We were given hardly any information about his condition day after day! My dad was becoming more confused and we noticed that his foot ulcers were getting more red which he had previously had vascular surgery to help his blood flow with him being diabetic. We did bring this up with the nurses who got the vascular team to look at it. Every time we asked what they had said we were told that he was doing well and that he would be transferred to mold when a bed became available. He was then moved out of the side ward and onto the ward, we were pleased about this as we thought it was a step closer to getting home but he seemed to have gone from being quite independent to not being able to get out of bed and hardly responding to us. Again we were told it was due to infection but given no more info... my uncle and brother were there one day and my dad was complaining of pain in his foot so a nurse came to take a look and could not hide his shock when he saw my dads foot because his foot was turning black. We were very concerned by now and the next day asked the senior nurse how worried we should be and we're told that they were not that concerned and he could live another 5 years before it traveled to his heart and they were still waiting for a bed in mold so even though we had doubts we trusted her. The next day we had a phone call telling us the doctor wanted to see us so we went to the hospital and we're taken into a room and told that they had been in touch with the vascular team to see about my dads foot and because he has a heart condition there was no chance they would amputate the foot or leg because he would not survive the op so there was nothing more that could be done..... we were beyond devastated after being given false hope by a senior nurse and I find it disgusting that the only time we were given any info by a doctor was to tell us my dad was dying! We watched my dad slip away for a week on a ward full of people with no dignity and no respect! The very least my dad deserved was a side ward.... I would like to praise the nursing assistants because they really helped and we're very helpful but the senior nurses were useless and rude when we were after information. My dad was a wonderful man who deserved so much more than that......

I had a colonoscopy yesterday in the endoscopy department carried out by Mr Kahn and his great team of nurses. From start to finish in the hospital I had exemplary care and the staff had given up their Sundays to reduce waiting times for no extra pay.I really cannot praise them highly enough firstly for their kindness and genuine care but also the skilled expertise of Dr Kahn and their reassurance, had I had cancer I would have been so grateful to be surrounded by such a professional team.I was fortunate, a polyp was found and speedily removed and at all times I was informed every step of the way about what was happening to me. I wish I could give 5 stars for he whole experience but because the department was short staffed I didn't get the information about the procedure until 48 hours before it and there is important information about changing your diet 2 days before that I should have been doing and a form that said 'Return within 4 days of the procedure" which of course was impossible.I phoned the apartment 3 times on the number they gave me for reassurance and nobody "got back to me" as the answerphone promised they would.This I found out was because the were so short staffed staff from that office were actually working in the unit. They need our support and more staff so they can deliver a fully 5 star operation but they have my grateful thanks for the brilliant care I received in every single way yesterday.

This is the first time I've been to the hospital cannot praise them enough everybody is sooo lovely! From the moment you go through the door great receptionist had a giggle with her, sorted us out with the directions, saw Mr Arya in the ENT lovely consultant! about sleep apnea, the nurses and receptionist there all absolutely wonderful they are all so caring and explain everything so you understand what's going on! Put you at ease straight away we cannot thank them enough! Fabulous NHS! Go back next week for equipment and the sleep apnea nurse booked me straight in for it and gave me information about it all, thanking you all very much!

Just left my mother on glyndwr Ward I found the sister so much arrogance rude priggish and aggressive will ask about mothersmedication I find this is fairly typical of senior staff at the Maelor! Abomasnow had 3 failed discharges NHS it is NHS Direct which orders an ambulance not the patient or the patient's family you constantly get accused or bed blocking which is highly unfair if the medical staff would diagnose and sat out of treatment plan this wouldn't happen!

Had total knee replacement with Mr Malek - fabulous man and great team. Very positive outcome and 100% recommend Hospital ward stay was positive - fabulous care by most - one nurse let the side down by her aggressive /uncaring attitude to some patients and family members. We all knew, after 48 hours, she was a nurse to avoid Suggestion: complaining about one nurse seems the wrong way to go forward (few of us feel comfortable complaining) BUT giving positive feedback/ "gold stars" re those who are fabulous would soon recognise those who "fail" to meet the great standards of the majority.
