Urgent Treatment Care in King George Hospital is appalling. I took my 8 month old baby to be checked as directed by 111 and the lack of care, empathy and urgency is horrific. I’m very disappointed at how the staff treated my baby and how long I had to wait in the urgent treatment centre with my sick baby. There should be a priority for children especially babies and yet you are made to wait the same amount of time with all the patients.
The appointment was on time and the nursing staff and doctor explained things clearly and the doctor made additional recommendations for my future treatment
I gave these answers because I was treated with care even though I was disabled they were very good to me
It was a very long wait sitting in reception about 8 hours. I was given a cubicle after that.
They didn't get to the bottom of the pain and said I should go home and take painkillers. I didn't find that very helpful.
They did, however, do a full ct scan, bloods and xray. But because they all came back clear they sent me home.
I don't feel Dr's should just rely on test results. They need to look at the patient as a whole. I was in pain. Why? Just because the results came back clear didn't take away the pain.
Because we were delighted to find the service so good.
Initially when I was brought in by the ambulance service which were incredible, but then once I was admitted into the hospital, things went downhill from there. There was several attempts by phlebotomists to try and get blood out of my arm, but could not insert the canola properly, which that then involved me A haematoma and a massive lump on my arm .then as the day went on. I did receive some treatment, but the main doctor then came to me after a few hours and stated that he is going to discharge me as I am not having a heart attack which was not my reason for admission, and that if anything else was to happen, I can come back to the hospital as it is 24 hours and that there is nothing else he can do. after stating that to me, I mentioned that I did not feel well still and as a diabetic, I believed I should have stayed in which he then discharged me without any medication and sent me home . within less than 24 hours. I was then re-admitted into hospital when the duty doctor came to see me, she was infuriated that the previous doctor did what he did and had know words to say to me.
