I have had 2 operations at Ashtead and my mother also was treated there in the past. Each time I have been there I have felt the environment is very pleasant, the staff extremely caring, the premises spotlessly clean and the food pretty good too. I would not hesitate to recommend it .

Great experience the staff were all very friendly and caring and that is what you need when you are in hospital. The hospital was very clean and provided everything you needed to make your stay and comfortable as possible. I would recommend this hospital with no hesitation.

I was admitted as a day patient for shoulder arthroscopy. The procedure was performed in the afternoon and I was discharged later in the evening. All the staff looking after me were fantastic. The physio and the anaesthetist were very helpful and spoke to me with great patience and detail about their involvement in my procedure and post-op rehabilitation. The physio also arranged for subsequent therapy sessions at a centre of my choice in a very efficient manner. Need I say anything more about Mr Little, the surgeon? He is one of the best, if not the best.

I was successfully diagnosed by Ms Anne Mitchener, but unfortunately she left before she could operate and my operation for the 7 July 2017 was cancelled and I await a new date.

I have been off an on visiting the hospital with my family and parents over the past 15 years. I am sorry to say that over the past years there is a marked down spiral of service. The staff seem under so much pressure that there is no time for them to extend simple pleasantries. Just the other day I was checking in a relative and the receptionists was so busy on her computer that she didn't even look up when she said can I help you. We checked in and there was zero eye contact. Directors - your hospital is under staffed and it shows. The staff are feeling it and the patients can sense it. I for one will be moving my business to fellow hospitals not too far away.

The nursing staff seemed unable to agree on medication the doctor had prescribed. I was told by the day shift nurse to use the post-op morphine button as often as required, but that my oxygen mask was unnecessary. The night staff then told me off for removing the mask and replaced it, and then chastised me for using too much morphine. Once the day shift returned, I was questioned as to why I'd replaced my mask (I couldn't have done it unaided!), and the morphine removed as I hadn't been using it enough to warrant keeping it. VERY frustrating. My water jug was removed for over an hour on two occasions, and I had to ask several members of staff to replace it, despite not being able to speak with constant fluids.

The day nursing staff were not helpful and dismissive and did not appear caring. They were not that well informed as to what had happened during my operation The night staff were very good
