Recently diagnosed with emphysema, and moved to Chippenham. All the doctors and staff have been brilliant, and the surgery at Sutton Benger is simply the best.

Visited this surgery for the first time today (usually go to Beversbrook) for a blood test, receptionist was very friendly and helpful as was the nurse I saw. On my way out, I mentioned to the receptionist that I needed to book for an ECG. She asked if I could wait 20 minutes or so because there was an available slot, which was great for me as I live a 20 minute drive away, so would save me coming back. Again, lovely nurse did the ECG and it was reviewed by the GP right away. Great service, friendly and efficient staff - thank you to all :-)

Sutton Benger Surgery gave a superb service up until two or three years ago when the merge with other practices made communication almost impossible. The pandemic had little to do with the deterioration of the service and communication. It is a delight to say that there are noticeable changes and the pharmacy and admin team are great both helpful and friendly. The nurses who take bloods or review medicines are very good. Luckily, I have not had to make appointment to see a doctor, but hopefully that is now easier and one isn’t left hanging on the end of a phone

Suggested improvements
A clearer explanation of the different apps in use would be helpful, but they should not take over from the human element. When one is trying to make an appointment or attending the surgery it is usually because something is amiss an app does not provide the smile to reassurance that can be needed.

I have been a patient at Sutton Benger Surgery for 34 years and until approx 2 years ago it was superb, but the processes put in place were very detrimental to the service delivery. It was not all down to the pandemic. It is pleasing to see that the process of making appointments at the surgery is a little easier, certainly for bloods I do not know about seeing a doctor. Although, I have not tried to make an appointment over the telephone. The receptionists and pharmacy staff are pleasant and seem able to be more flexible in their approach and help. I trust this will continue.

Suggested improvements
Communication about flu vaccines was not clear , and the appointments limited. The worry is that it is not accessible enough for everyone. It would be useful to have a overview of all the different ways to use the different software available.

Dear Patient - Thank you for taking the time to write this review - the positive comments and welcomed and we are sorry to hear of some of the difficulties you have faced. As the message is anonymous I am unable to call you direct. We have a Patient Experience Lead, Paula who I know would be delighted to engage and discuss further our services and the different ways to use our online services. If you would like to email Beversbrook@nhs.net and ask for Paula to contact you I hope we will be able to assist further. With best wishes - Julie Taylor - Practice Operations Manager
