When I asked for a telephone consultation with the doctor, a service which is advertised at the surgery, the receptionist informed me the doctor was busy. I wondered what was implied by this remark; as how could the receptionist possibly know what I wanted. I have been with this surgery since I was a child and the doctors and medical staff could not be more helpful however you have to have a thick skin to deal with receptionists who are often curt and resistant. My comment is to the office staff. I believe medical staff should decide whether they are too busy to deal with patients as they are aware of the circumstances.

Always easy to get an emergency appointment on the day if called at 8am and you can get in to surgery. When trying to book appointments ahead it is very busy and can have to wait.

I was visiting my very elderly father who suffers from dementia and had been experiencing dizziness. I rang up and explained that I lived hundreds of miles away, but would really like to get him checked out before I returned home. The receptionist fitted us in on a cancellation and Dr Saw could not have been more helpful - arranging tests and seeing us twice on the same afternoon, although I am sure everyone was very busy after the New Year. I was very impressed and grateful for the level of care and concern shown.

I have recently registered to make appointments/repeat prescriptions online although have been a patient at the practice for over 30 years. I found it easy to book an appointment with my preferred doctor (Dr Ramiah) but suspect that this would have been more problematical had I wished to see one of the more senior members. I felt that my comments and concerns were listened to, and opinions sought about possible treatment/investigations, without feeling under pressure due to time allowed for the appointment. I have not as yet ordered repeat prescriptions online so cannot comment on its efficiency or ease of use.

You appear to be having problems with the online repeat prescription system. At least twice in recent months I have gone online, submitted a repeat prescription request, got a confirmation of my order being submitted, got an email reminder a week later, gone to the chemist to collect my prescription only to be told that they have never received it. I then visited the surgery in Spencer St. to be told that they have no record of my request for a repeat prescription. I then suggested to the receptionist that if she gets a list of my medication up on her screen I could tell her which items I needed, but when I tried to look at the list of my own medication on the computer screen I was told I was not allowed to look at it due to data protection. In the end, feeling quite frustrated that I could not easily achieve the simple task of getting a repeat prescription I went home and started the whole online process again. When I logged into my online account and checked my repeat prescription history it does show that I did in fact submit the request that no one received.
