When I asked for a telephone consultation with the doctor, a service which is advertised at the surgery, the receptionist informed me the doctor was busy. I wondered what was implied by this remark; as how could the receptionist possibly know what I wanted. I have been with this surgery since I was a child and the doctors and medical staff could not be more helpful however you have to have a thick skin to deal with receptionists who are often curt and resistant. My comment is to the office staff. I believe medical staff should decide whether they are too busy to deal with patients as they are aware of the circumstances.
