Since when have receptionists at pendre surgery been doctor's and mental health experts .three times I phoned there to speak about my medication , I told them my oncologist was writing to the surgery about some medication but I couldn't get past the receptionists, I even asked to speak to a doctor or nurse ,they even told me to get back to oncologist, the medication I needed was for mental health reasons

No contact available when surgery is closed. My appointment for 9am had to be unavoidably cancelled the previous day kudt after surgery closed. As there was only a recorded answerphone message with no facility to reply and no email address there was no means of another patient using the appointment I had to miss. I was both upset and annoyed at the same time. I will never book an early appointment again.

Medical staff are wonderful. Getting an appointment or through on the phone is a nightmare. Listen to the Pre-recorded phone message. “How dare you disturb us? Go away unless you are dying, we are busy until 11; shut for lunch hour at 12 and shut again at 2 for a further 2 hours, and, Oh we’re shut now!” You can waste hours waiting to get through to this most unhelpful practice. Living in the Jurassic age, not prepared to use email or other methods of communicating. Most unprofessional and unhelpful and the practice manager believes the service is acceptable!

The other reviews seem to be very critical of the surgery. Every time I have been there has been no issue getting an appointment. If you have a serious issue that should not involve you calling A+E straight away then you are likely to get an appointment on the day as long as it is not peak times. If you need a routine check up, the waiting list can be long depending on the time of year, but the surgery works well together to provide an efficient service. On the other hand, I feel the doctors aren't asking their patients enough questions about their personal life. I went for a health check and I don't feel that the person examining me cared enough about my worries. I was also very confused about their instructions when picking up a prescription and giving in samples, but maybe that's just me being a bit dumb.

Like others have said the surgery appears to be run for the benefit of the staff rather than the people who pay their wages, the taxpayer. Trying to get an appointment is very difficult, via phone and you have an almost endless wait for a human to answer the phone and via in-person at the surgery and you have a long queue to contend with. I hear that other surgeries are the same nowadays which is the only reason I haven't moved to another surgery. Their priorities are all wrong, customer service can be easily applied with the correct political will and the staff are on more than enough money so I can only guess that it is an ingrained attitude problem.
