First of all it would be interesting to know other patients' reviews relating to the Practice since the implementation of the Triage system. It is difficult to get continuity of treatment when trying to get a review appointment with the same doctor. Using the "book appointment" system there is hardly any appointments for doctors and only phlebotomy appointments. There seems to be many locum doctors now in the Practice which is fine if a patient only needs an appointment for a one off complaint ie inflamed ear/throat, throbbing toe, etc as it is not essential to know patients past history but when a patient has an on-going health issue it would be more appropriate to have continuity with the original doctor. A good point is the on-line repeat prescription service and the booking in appointment system instead of having to go to the reception desk.

I am very disappointed in the service the standards have dropped the reception staff are not helpful at all well some not all. I have tried on numerous occasions to get an appointment to see a doctor but been told can have a phone consultation but l need to see a doctor. Then more often than not you cannot see the one you want to see. When you ring at 8am again you are told no appointments is it a emergency when you go online you are most likely not going to get one for three weeks. I am really not happy this practice used to be great but not anymore if you need to see a doctor then you should be able to see one and the one you want seeing different doctors each time is stressful and you find yourself having to go over things again.

You can no longer see the doctor you wish to at Ilkley medical centre. Whilst I understand this is for practical reasons, there is one doctor who has spoken to me very rudely a couple of times, after which I was very upset. I would like the choice of not having to see this doctor, but no longer have the option of doing this. I tried to raise this issue with the doctor who laughed off the fact that I was upset. The result is that sometimes I do not make a medical appointment when perhaps I should.

The doctor makes an appointment to speak with you and to ring you at an appointed time. However the doctors do not ring, very badly managed and lack of patient care.

I have always found all of the members of staff very helpful and the care exemplary. However, recently I have needed a non-urgent appointment and it is really difficult to get one. Having been told to phone on the day I have been told on more than one occasion that it is 'emergencies only today'. On asking for a non-emergency appointment I have either been told it is not possible to book one or that the earliest available is a couple of weeks hence. On phoning again this morning the earliest offered is a week on Friday. I can wait, my health concern is not urgent. But I do need referring to a consultant by my GP and I cannot be referred without an appointment. My concern is not so much for me but I wonder how many people have on-going health worries that they are not sure about troubling the doctor over (or are embarrassed about) and are put off by the difficulty in getting an appointment? How many men for example with on-going symptoms of bowel or prostrate cancer will leave it and leave it because they can't get to see a GP?
