I was seen by Ms Bronder in May 2017 following having scans, a colonoscopy and blood tests. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. It was a shock, but I was immediately assured by Ms Bronder that my condition was treatable with an operation to remove the affected area. The operation was carried out as soon as possible and the outcome was successful. I was advised to have a course of chemotherapy to make sure that any possible remaining malignant cells were cleared up as far as possible. I was fortunate enough to complete the course of treatment without any side effects other than neuropathy in my feet which still remains with me. A small price to pay staying alive! The part of the chemo which causes this was removed for the final chemotherapy sessions. A few weeks ago, I had my follow up CT scan it showed no evidence of cancer recurrence and no other abnormalities. A great relief for myself and my family. I am truly grateful to Ms Bronder for her skill in carrying out my operation, and to her entire team, the ward nurses and the Colorectal nurses for the follow up care I received during my stay in The Royal Lancaster Infirmary and up to date. This site is entitled 'iWantGreatCare'. I GOT GREAT CARE. Thank you.

I had a consultation with Ms Bronder at Kendal hospital followed by a speedy referral to FGH for an examination. All the staff at both hospitals were calming and reassuring and would recommend any patient to consult there GP ( Dr AJ Harrison who also acted promptly) if they have any problems. Thank you all.

I have not seen Miss Bronder in person but I do know that she has listened to the details of my case and made specific recommendations. It doesn’t bother me that I haven’t actually seen her as I’ve had great, day care treatment. I was seen initially during the pandemic, for which I’m grateful. Everyone has been very friendly and caring at WGH. I just wish that there was a more palatable medication to clear the bowel before a colonoscopy. My stomach rebels about three quarters of the way through taking it and I vomit and am no longer able to continue.
