I recently underwent cataract surgery at Woodlands Hospital under the exceptional care of Mr. Patel and his team, and I am compelled to express my heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable experience I had. As an individual living with Parkinson's, the prospect of undergoing surgery was inherently worrying, but Mr. Patel's full support and expertise truly made all the difference. Well, where to start….from my initial consultation to my final surgery, Mr Patel was nothing short of a godsend. After diagnosing me of retained SLM (fluffy cortex) following cataract removal some 10 years ago at age 40, was immediately put on surgical list. May 23 left eye completed, result completely clear vision. Unfortunately due to wait times, second eye only done in Nov 23 when right eye was completely covered in ‘fluff’ making vision impossible. 1hr 30 mins later and eye completely clear of retained lens cortex and vision restored. Whilst listening to the commentary between staff during surgery, was completely at ease, and to hear ‘I’m sorry this is taking so long, I’m a bit of a perfectionist’ only resulted in the reinforcement of the confidence I had in this man. If I could change one thing about my experience - would be to lesson the time to have the second surgery, but that is not in the hands of Mr Patel. As a 50 year old man clearly relying on his vision for quality of life, I could not recommend Mr Patel enough. Thank you sir.

Mr Patel was amazing, patient, kind, always explaining what he was doing in simple terms that I could understand perfectly. I have been seeing Mr. Trushar Patel for a year both as a private and NHS patient. I have the highest regard for his professionalism, expertise and care while also being friendly and considerate. All the procedures were explained in detail but also in easy to understand terms giving confidence in proceeding. 2023 has been a problematic mrdical year but the timings of procedures has been good and where problems have been forseen he has gone out of his way to find a solution. I would recommend Trushar without hesitation to anyone.

Listened to all my issues and concerns, was totally honest in the advice given about possible outcome after surgery. He shows empathy and answers all queries both in an outpatient setting and also on the surgery day itself.
