At basildon hospital he let loose on me his registrar who cut my hepatic artery and subsequently damaged the artery causing a pseudoaneurysm to burst causing me to lose large quantities of blood. I was in critical care for days after the operation. I never met him before the operation even when on the day of my admission. Doctors who treated my aneurysm stated that I was lucky to be alive. I am still in considerable discomfort. I have subsequently asked for a further CT scan to check for any other damage but so fa have not heard anything. He may be deemed good in private health care but on NHS, I am not his biggest fan

Fantastic Surgeon..Listens, explains. Oh, and is funny too. Puts you at your ease. I almost wished I was awake during my recent Surgery to watch him work! Definitely would recommend Mr Karamanakos...........

I was very impressed with the level of detail the surgeon went through with me, he explained everything simply and told me what could happen if the operation didn’t go to plan. He was efficient, honest and attentive, had a great sense of humour as well which put me at ease.
