Following a 4 month wait on the NHS and being told they had no idea how much longer it would be before I got an appointment to even look at my hernia I decided to investigate private treatment. I chose Mr Dutta on the basis of his reviews and reasonable distance to where I live. Four days after making the initial contact I had an appointment with Mr Dutta on 19 December. I'd had the hernia for six years having been put off by the previous NHS referred clinic's approach, so was understandably a bit concerned about how I would be dealt with. Mr Dutta had a completely different manner, he is professional and his calm and attentive manner immediately puts you at ease. He explains everything in a clear and concise way, ensuring you fully understand and clarifying anything you ask. He was apologetic that due to the Christmas break and his own holiday in January he would not be able to get me in for surgery till February. In the end my surgery was carried out on 22 February. The booking and pre-operation administration was timely and efficient, all the staff are helpful, courteous and attentive. The anaesthetist came in and explained the procedure and when I'd got ready I was taken down, had the anaesthetic administered and don't have any further recollection until I woke up back in my room. Once I had come round enough to be discharged all the post op care was explained and I was discharged with a review date booked for the follow up consultation with Mr Dutta on 02 April. On the 2nd I saw Mr Dutta, he checked how I felt inspected the hernia repair, which he was very happy with and asked how I felt it was. He then went through the operation and showed me photos of the hernia and repair. He then said he was satisfied that everything was in order and he would discharge me. I am very happy with the whole process and have no hesitation in recommending Mr Dutta and the Park Hospital

It’s said that first impressions are instant conclusions we make when meeting someone for the first time. If you need surgery Mr Dutta is what you want your surgeon to look like ! Apart from being impeccably dressed , he has a relaxed and very kind demeanour. I’d had a number of gallstone events causing vicious pain and saw Mr Dutta in relation to these. He patiently explained the problem, even drawing what was causing the pain, and further explained how the surgery would be performed and how that would solve the problem. The gallbladder surgery went exactly as planned and I’m pleased to say I am no longer experiencing any problems. At my 6 week review I was greeted with a charming smile as though I was a long time friend. I cannot recommend Mr Dutta too highly, his relaxed and professional manner is excellent.

A great experience throughout. Starting with Sams' great sense of humour but with professionalism when explaining the procedure, followed by further detailed information on the day. Post procedure it was clear that the surgery was of the highest standard; I had no pain and did not need to use the painkillers provided. You can be assured you will be in good hands, highly recommended.
