I was referred urgently by my GP to Mr Lee after I was initially diagnosed with a slipped Disc in April. It did not improve and on 25th of December, I could not walk and indeed struggled to get out of bed and ended up in a wheelchair. My GP said. I could end up permanently in a wheelchair if I did not get treatment straight away. I had full confidence in Mr Lee as he had Operated on my Back previously for a different problem. Within a week I saw Mr Lee who arranged for X-rays and Scans and talked me through the results and we agreed that an Operation to stabilise the Spine was the only solution to the problem. Mr Lee took the time to talk me through the whole procedure of fitting the “Cage” and I had no qualms going into the Operations, a day after the second Operation I was standing on my own for the first time in months! After a little glitch (not unexpected as I was on Warfarin Therapy) I was walking around the house and looking forward to getting out in the garden again in a few months! I cannot thank thank Mr Lee enough for giving me my life (and the use of my legs)back. A modest man with brilliant Surgical skills and an excellent bedside manner! What more can I say?

Mr. Lee is a first-class professional. His skill as a surgeon is second to none. He explains everything clearly at each of the different stages. As for patient care, he is dedicated to looking after the patient. He seems to work 7 days a week!!! I had visits from him in hospital on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I had a 2 stage cage and bolt operation and saw from the x rays the result of his surgery. I would highly recommend him. Barry Maltz

Mr Robert Lee listens and explains everything in ways non medically trained people can understand. He has a charming and approachable manner and I trust him implicitly.

Great communication skills. Extremely professional with a caring attitude which extended also to my wife. His whole attitude and care in providing details of procedure and possible complications gave me confidence in his abilities and comfort in attending surgery. Following surgery on my lower back and discussions on the outcome of and my aftercare, Mr Lee identified problems with my neck of which I was not aware. His immediate investigations revealed a serious problem which he successfully dealt with quickly by further surgery. This whole experience more than reinforced the diligence that Mr Lee gives to his work and the attributes mentioned above.

Mr Lee has given me a future; I am eternally grateful for him, his team and all of the support staff at the RNOH. I can sleep, walk and move freely without pain. For the first time in 17 years. There aren’t words enough to say thanks. From the moment I met Mr Lee I felt listened to and understood. Spinal surgery is a big step and although frightened I trusted Mr Lee and the team. I’m so very glad I did. Even through the pandemic the team and the hospital continued to check in with me over the past 12mths providing care. I couldn’t of asked for more.
