After 4 days in Royal Surrey in pain Mr Templeton -Ward was able to resolve the issue immediately by draining the heamatoma. The reduced swelling has allowed the fractured patella to heal more speedily. I am hoping to make a full recovery and feel extremely lucky to have found a competent Consultant who always makes time for questions and explanations.

Mr Templeton-Ward reconstructed my cruciate ligament after a nasty ski injury last year. I have nothing but praise for him and his team. From start to finish the experience was 1st class. I was initially very nervous about seeing a surgeon but Mr Templeton-Ward put me completely at ease with his professional and friendly manner. He took a great deal of time to explain things to me and lay out all the options including not operating and different graft choices. Eventually I decided to have a reconstruction with a quadriceps tendon graft and now after some hard rehab my knee feels perfect. I seemed to recover much faster than a friend who had surgery at a similar time in a different location and I feel lucky to have had such great care. I would highly recommend Mr Templeton-Ward if you have a cruciate injury.

Initially I was seen by Mr Templeton-Ward's Registrar's Mr D Rossiter, who made a recommendation for a partial Knee replacement. This was confirmed at the time Mr Templeton-Ward. I was then placed on a waiting list and was operated on just two months later. I underwent the surgery with a spinal anaesthetic and was in recovery for about three hours. After transfer to the ward, the physiotherapists descended and had me walking with crutches in a few minutes. I completed all the exercises necessary to demonstrate my suitability for release and the doctor recommended my release that same day. Release was only delayed to the following day as the necessary medication could not be obtained in time. It is now two weeks since the operation and I have undergone a one mile walk without crutches. I have stopped pain killing medication and my rehabilitation proceed apace. I did not expect but am delighted by the very rapid return to near normality after the operation. From the start of the process the staff at The Royal Surrey County Hospital have been courteous and pleasant. The whole team from the nursing staff, anaesthetics and surgery, recovery and physiotherapy on the ward have been amazing and I cannot commend them highly enough.

I had a complex meniscal tear which was causing functional restriction and did not heal with conservative treatment. It was further complicated by bony swelling. Mr Templeton-Ward was incredibly clear in what was required and I had a partial meniscectomy. It was a quick and easy procedure. First day post-op I had full range of movement back and now, 5 months post op I have no bony swelling and am back to full sporting activities. If you have to have a meniscal trim, I would thoroughly recommend Mr Templeton-Ward.

My appointment today with Mr Templeton-Ward was for a second opinion. The first surgeon I was referred to was unable/unwilling to discuss So, I went prepared with questions, arguments and distress. All completely unnecessary as Mr Templeton-Ward assessed my knee problem and advised on a course of action with such professionalism, kindness and courtesy Thank you
