Mr Gooseman is currently working within our team as a specialist trainee in cardio thoracic surgery. He brings a positive contribution to the team with a clear enthusiasm for cardio thoracic surgery and providing a high standard of patient care. Mr Gooseman has excellent communication skills with all multidisciplinary team members. He communicates especially well with patients and their relatives, for example discussing patient progress or plans of care on ward rounds. Mr Gooseman is confident in his decision making and clinical skills which puts the patient at ease and builds their trust and confidence. He also takes on board the information and opinions of other multidisciplinary team members when planning patient care which is good team work. Mr Gooseman is also confident in his clinical skills and abilities. He clearly has an excellent knowledge base within the cardio thoracic surgical speciality and is always willing to share that knowledge and teach others. Mr Gooseman is always polite and professional, I would highly recommend his care .

I have worked alongside Mr. Gooseman in his role as Specialist Trainee in CardioThoracics as an allied health professional on the ward. He is very polite, approachable and willing to share his knowledge and expertise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. He acknowledges the role other professions play for example, physiotherapy and contributes to effective team working to ensure positive treatment outcomes for the patient. Mr Gooseman has excellent communication skills. He conducts himself in a very kind, caring and professional manner. When dealing with patients face-to-face he is compassionate, able to put them at ease and takes time to ensure their understanding; something I feel is of great importance and can often be missed owing to day-to-day demands and pressures on the ward. This is a quality he should be commended for. It’s clear Mr. Gooseman has a passion for patient care and is committed to his work, taking great pride in ensuring the best possible outcome for his patients. I hold him in very high regard and would not hesitate to recommend his care to family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael when he was an F1 on Elderly Medicine. I always found him to be approachable and more than willing to share his knowledge with both medical and nursing students. His communication skills are excellent and he was more than willing to listen and act on the information he was given about his patients by the nurses. He showed a great deal of patience with the elderly patients in his care, ensuring they had taken on board the information he was giving by using language they understood. He took great care in putting his patients at ease, talking quietly and with respect to them. While talking to relatives he was empathic and showed just the right amount of sympathy when it was needed. While Michael was confident in his abilities, he didn't hesitate to ask for help or advise from other medics or senior nurses if he felt unsure. He frequently stayed on the ward over his time when there was a problem and on more than one occasion I was grateful for his presence. I wouldn't hesitate in putting myself or a member of my family into Michaels care, I would trust him to do his very best to ensure a good outcome where possible.
