Dr Matay is the most professional surgeon I have ever met. He offered me the most amazing care and looked after my hand to the best ability. He operated me twice. Fist time he fixed my broken finger ( despite difficult injury he managed to fix my finger and I have recovered pretty quickly). Today he performed a surgery on my carpal tunnel decompression ( I have actually waited to be seen by him for few weeks, because I did not want anyone else to operate me). I really trust him. Thank you Kasia

Mr Arsan is a very competent clinician. He listened to the concerns I had with De Quervains Tendonitis and he patiently explained what caused the pain and how it could be treated. He was very clear and very kind. I felt able to ask questions and did not feel rushed. I have complete faith in him and his ability to cure my problem. He gave me a small spica splint which was so much more comfortable and practical than the huge, ungainly one I was given by the physiotherapist I saw at another hospital previously. I have has a steroid injection which has calmed the inflamation and the pain has gone. I am now hoping with continued care my problem will resolve itself.

Back in 2006 I was attacked and the attacker broke my wrist so badly it needed a metal plate and pins put in it. This was in another hospital in London. I am a guitarist and have played live in bands and thankfully the metal plate and pins saved my wrist so I was able to resume playing the guitar. However I noticed one day that I couldn't bend my left thumb. This obviously affected my ability to play the guitar. I was really worried. I was baffled as to what I could've done to it. I was referred to Mr Arsan by my GP and after examination he explained that he thought it could be some of the metal work in my wrist that could've damaged my tendon. Mr Arsan took out the metal a couple of months later in May 2018 However although it healed well, I still couldn't move my thumb. Mr Arsan said he might have to do more surgery but in around August my thumb started to be able to move. I was so happy!! Mr Arsan is extremely professional. He took great care in listening to me and took my fears seriously putting me at ease. The only thing that would've been better was the waiting times at my appointments.

In 2016 I broke a tendon on my right wrist whilst doing gymnastics as a part of Crossfit class I was attending. I felt sharp pain on my wrist for few weeks and I went to NHS clinics few time just to know that I have a broken tendon and not many people in UK are able to fix it because of the nature of the injury. After the MRI it was confirmed that its a SL Ligament repair (Scapho Lunate Ligament). I was in constant pain and it stopped me lifting anything or any other activities I loved to do because of my active life style. After few more consultations with some more NHS consultants a senior consultant suggested Dr. Arsan's name. Though the consultant who recommended Dr. Arsan can do the surgery himself, he suggested Arsan's name because of his expertise in fixing complex cases like mine. On my first consultation itself Dr. Arsan made me understand the complexity of the situation and how he is going to fix it. He even draw a picture for me to make it more simple. He is/was very gentle, caring and knowledgeable. He made me wait much less than usual and conducted the surgery within very few weeks after my consultation. I took his advice through out the process and he was in constant contact with me via emails. I never felt such attention and care from an NHS practitioner ever before. It's more than a year since my surgery and my wrist is as strong as ever. I can do weights without pain and can perform all the gymnastics movements without any problems. What more can I say ? , Dr. Arsan saved my active life style and I will be grateful to him ever.

For 3 years after attending my initial yoga teacher training in 2014, i began having pain in my left wrist. This pain got so bad that it was affecting my practice as well as my teaching. Having been to see my GP, i was referred to see a physio at St Leonard's Hospital where during the 3 years i had been prescribed steroid injects, 3 in total over this time. After 3 years without a diagnosis, frustrated i returned back to my GP and insisted to get a referral to a specialist. On meeting Mr Arsan for the first time last year, I was very angry and frightened at the thought of being told that there was in actual fact nothing that could be done. Straight away Mr Arsan made me feel at ease by his understanding of my frustration of the situation and also questioning why it had taken 3 years before I was referred to a specialist for an MRI and a diagnosis. After receiving the diagnosis of carpal instability, I felt a massive relief that he knew what this problem was and he took the time to explain exactly what this meant. More importantly what he was able to do through surgery to help fix the issue. Although he explained that an invasive procedure was required, I felt at ease and trusted him. On 9th August 2017, the day of the operation arrived and once again the care I received on the day was outstanding, from all the hospital staff as well as Mr Arsan who made sure explained the procedure to me before and after the surgery. Since having the procedure, I have continued to receive ongoing aftercare from Mr Arsan and he’s made sure that I can call should I have any problems. When I have had appointments with Mr Arsan during and after the physio, he’s always made sure that he’s advised on what care I should be receiving and also advised me on what could and should avoid in taking care during my recovery. I am now teaching yoga full-time and also I’m in a position where I’m fully conscious and confident in my own recovery process. More importantly, I’m aware and confident that I can contact Mr Arsan should I need further care and advice because he cares. I would by far highly recommend as a surgeon Mr Arsan to anyone and also the procedure should anyone have the same condition that I have. I have been given the chance to live my passions in teaching and practising yoga and I have Mr Arsan to thank for thank; I couldn't thank him enough.
