I had read Mr Arambage's great reviews and bio so I had total confidence in him (even though I was nervous about the surgery itself). We had to do the initial consultations by phone because of Covid, but as soon as I met him in the hospital I found he radiated empathy and positivity - not always something I associate with medical scenarios! He listened carefully to me, answered all my questions, remembered my concerns and never made me feel rushed. I also noticed that the anaesthetist, when explaining possible side effects before the operation, said he had never known them occur with this surgeon; and a nurse later commented on how detailed and carefully written Mr Arambage's account of the operation was. He was outstanding in his care both before and after the operation, and I think really does live for his profession and speciality. I was originally referred to Mr Arambage through the NHS, but when it became clear that I would need to wait at least another six months for the operation, I decided to book it privately with him instead. He stressed that whether working for the NHS or privately, the treatment itself would be exactly the same.

I was very frightened before this procedure. However, Mr Arambage put me totally at ease and that made all the difference. I was able to feel that I was in control of my future, instead of feeling like a victim. I came to after the procedure feeling surprisingly well, and had no bleeding at all. I am now a week or so into recovery. I can't recommend Mr Arambage highly enough, and am grateful that he listened so carefully and was so reassuring.

I don't have enough words to recommend Mr Arambage highly enough. He is the third gynecologist that I have seen for my endometriosis, adenomyosis and PMDD. It has been a difficult journey, on which he and his equally wonderful secutary Fiona have supported me with kindness, compassion and effeciency. I have had two surgical procedures including a total hysterectomy with Mr Arambage, it goes without saying that he is an excellent surgeon. I am hopeful that my journey with Endometriosis ends here, but if not I take comfort knowing that I will be a in the very best hands. I really can't comment on points to improve as in my opinion there aren't any. All I would say to new patients is to be patient if Mr Arambage is running late - this is a very small price to pay for the 'above and beyond' level of care that he gives to his patients. Suffering from chronic conditions can feel relentless. At all times Fiona has been happy to help answer my many questions kindly and promptly. When things have been urgent, time has been taken to get me seen / spoken to as soon as possible.
