Karim gave me confidence in his ability deal with my thyroid problem from the start. He explained the process clearly and was generous with his time in doing so. Following my operation he communicated with me via email to answer one or two questions I was concerned about. He responded extremely quickly which put my mind at rest immediately. This is so important from the patient's wellbeing point of view. I am very grateful to him for dealing with my case so quickly and efficiently.

Mr Jamal undertook my cholecystectomy in February. I highly recommend Mr Jamal - I was very well looked after and couldn't have asked for anything more in terms of the pre-operative care and the after surgery care that I received.
I am recovering very well and am impressed by how well my scars have healed. I have friends and family who have had this surgery and their scaring is more prominent.

Throughout my treatment, I have had excellent care from Mr Jamal and his team. At all times they have been most approachable, thorough and open to questions and clarifications. During my many appointments, I have not had to wait much and all the hospital staff and procedures, including at Epsom General where the actual surgery took place, have been most efficient. I have complete confidence in Mr Jamal.

I had such an amazing experience with Doctor Jamal due to the fact he made me feel extremely at ease. I could ask him anything I wanted & he was very informative & helpful with his answers. I’ve yet to come across another doctor that I feel as comfortable with as I did with him!

Mr Jamal was kind, respectful, perceptive and very reassuring and really helped put me at ease going into the operating theatre.
Profile
I am a consultant general surgeon at Epsom and St Helier Hospital. During my registrar training I specialised in Upper GI and General surgery with a particular interest in gallbladder, hernia and anti reflux surgery. After completing my training I spent 3 years training in endocrine surgery at University College Hospital and Great Ormand Street where I gained a large experience in both paediatric and adult thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. I was a locum consultant in endocrine surgery at UCLH before starting my permanent position at Epsom and St Helier.
I am committed to providing high standards of patient care and doing everything possible to ensure that patients receive the best treatment possible. I am significantly involved in the teaching and training of surgical trainees and me currently completing a masters thesis in medical education. I am actively involved in research and regularly publish and present the results of these projects.
