Dr Gin is one of the few that give eye contact when speaking to a patient, he fully explained when I asked questions. He took time out of his busy day to ensure that my needs where being met. All I can add is if your in his care then he is the one I personally choose, kind, caring and understanding.

Met Jin who works with Mr. Samandouras on several occasions both pre and post operation. He explained everything to us in laymans terms and answered the many questions we threw at him. He could see myself and my family we're distraught with worry and the Unknown and he gave us a lot of time whilst being kind and reassuring, just a lovely man who put us at ease.

Am ambivalent about rating Mr Ekanayake (and his boss GS) as highly as they deserve as they are so much in demand already! That selfish thought aside, neither I nor my partner (who accompanied me to my outpatient appointment) could fault him. His approach seemed balanced, pointing out risks as well as options. He explained both what is known about my brain tumour, and what is uncertain, clearly and with an appropriate level of detail. He seemed approachable, realistic and down-to-earth, a human being as well as a professional. He answered my (many) questions thoughtfully, thoroughly and informatively. In a medical predicament such as this, the great (the only!) reassurance is to have professionals such as Mr Ekanayake and Mr Samandouras on one's side.

Mr Ekanayake described in detail the procedure that I would be undergoing, as well as the risks, benefits, and alternatives. We had an open conversation with regards to the complications which was my main concern. Mr Ekanayake was honest with regards to the expected outcome of the surgery. I have always undergone other surgical procedures (not spine) through private medical care and have had consultations with regards to my disc herniation with my private care provider consultant, however remained unconvinced that I wished for anyone to perform any surgery on my back. Therefore, with regard to the context above, I was pleasantly pleased during and following the consultation with the assurance provided re. the procedure and after care and confident to go ahead with the operation.
