Am ambivalent about rating Mr Ekanayake (and his boss GS) as highly as they deserve as they are so much in demand already! That selfish thought aside, neither I nor my partner (who accompanied me to my outpatient appointment) could fault him. His approach seemed balanced, pointing out risks as well as options. He explained both what is known about my brain tumour, and what is uncertain, clearly and with an appropriate level of detail. He seemed approachable, realistic and down-to-earth, a human being as well as a professional. He answered my (many) questions thoughtfully, thoroughly and informatively. In a medical predicament such as this, the great (the only!) reassurance is to have professionals such as Mr Ekanayake and Mr Samandouras on one's side.
