I was referred to Mr Eyre as I had severe arthritis in my big toe joint. I was prepared to have a fusion in the joint and went along to the consultation fully expecting that this was the route to go down to alleviate my problem. However, this was not the case. Having had a very in depth and informative consultation with Mr Eyre, we decided that the better option would be to have a Cartiva Implant in the toe joint. this would reduce the pain and still give me movement in the joint thus preventing any further pain and damage to my knee and back (As I was walking with a limp which was causing problems in my knee and my back) I had the procedure shortly after and so began the painful recovery. I was in bandages for two weeks. Once the bandages were removed I began intense physiotherapy. Trust me my physio took no prisoners!! There were times when I thought "What have I done!!" At my six weeks consultation, Mr Eyre told me that it would be 12 - 14 weeks before I began to feel the benefit of the procedure and the physiotherapy, and sure enough as if by magic I did! I am 9 months post op now and am able to walk without pain and without a limp. I have no niggles in my knee, and my back has not given me any trouble for months now. I still get a dull ache in the joint now and again if I have overdone things, but no sleepless nights being kept awake by the "toothache" in my toe. I am not saying that the whole experience has been great. I have had up times and down times and times when I wondered if I had made things worse. Coming through the other side now I can see that all the hard work and effort of rehab has been worth every moment. I have a good quality of mobility back now and it has given me a new lease of life. I can run around with my granddaughter and go for days out walking now with no problems Thank you Mr Eyre and should I need the procedure ever doing in my other foot, I will have no hesitation to give you a call

I would recommend this surgeon for all orthopedic surgery. I was in discomfort before my operation but after, I suffered NO PAIN at all. Even after surgery and still no pain for the 7 weeks after.

Jason Eyre successfully performed bunion correction surgery using the Scarf and Akin procedure on both my feet over a 2-year period and I must say it was the most scary but best decision I every made in my life. As a working young woman with 2 Labradors and 2 young children I was very apprehensive about the surgery and the recovery period, however at 28 (when I started the journey) I also felt that I was too young to have foot pain and hip pain, the final straw was when I couldn’t even enjoy a week snowboarding holiday without agonising pain from my bunion. A bunion, a deformity of the joint at the base of the big toe has a lot of negative press, people often perceive the bunion as cosmetic surgery, my own GP refused my referral twice and I had to push to be taken seriously however if left untreated bunions can cause serious problems and can pass the point of successful treatment. Jason and the Team at Methley park were able to ‘fix’ my feet, and for the fix time in my life I can run, wear heals, snowboard ALL PAIN FREE. Thank you for every thing you have done for me and anyone considering going down this journey I would definitely recommend Jason Eyre.

Mr Eyre was very honest and straight to the point, he explained everything in detail and made me feel at ease. We discussed what options I had and he let me think about which way to proceed, taking everything into account. Once the decision was made, I had surgery and the outcome is far better than any of us expected. I can not thank Mr Eyre enough as I am now able to walk without a limp, run and all without pain! I would highly recommend this surgeon.
