As I have said before Mr Auld fully explained the procedure and answered all my questions, especially on possible risks involved with the surgery. This helped me decide on the type of anaesthetic and also helped me the anxiety that I was feeling. He also spoke to me post operation and advised on the recovery criteria. I would definitely contact him again if my other knee needs attention in the future.

Following my initial consultation with Mr Auld, I was totally confident that the medical procedure he described would be carried out with the utmost care and professionalism. My confidence has been totally justified. My aftercare and follow up appointments have been second to none, with everyone confirming that my recovery to date has been excellent. I would like to thank Mr. Auld and the whole medical team and staff at Three Shires for the care and attention I have received.

Response from Mr Jason Auld

I’m delighted to hear how well you have recovered from your surgery and equally grateful for your very kind and positive feedback regarding the care you have received from us all. I have shared your comments with our CEO so he can feed back to the staff in theatre and on the wards. Thank you again and very best wishes Jason Auld

Mr Auld was highly recommended to me by my physiotherapist a consultant in a related specialist field, and a family friend and former patient, for which I'm extremely grateful. He is an exceptional orthopaedic consultant He listened, observed, examined, advised, researched, provided me with comprehensive patient -friendly written reports and recommended a course of action to best resolve my condition, all with meticulous thoroughness, attention to detail and with real care. I consulted with Mr Auld when I was in great pain and very low mood. The quality of his care inspires trust and confidence and lifted my spirits. From my experience, he treats one with rare compassion, kindness, dignity and respect and goes above and beyond in offering patient support. Like those who recommended him to me - I can't recommend him highly enough!

I have had two operations through mr Auld, a total left knee replacement and a total right hip replacement. Both operations were a total success and I would like to recommend Mr Auld to anyone seeking this type of surgery.

Profile

I was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Northampton in 2005. I completed my medical training in London in 1992, and went on to gain specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic accreditation in 2003 after completing my Higher Surgical Training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. Further subspecialist Fellowship experience in hip and knee surgery was undertaken in Sydney, Australia in 2004.

I am a specialist in hip and knee replacement surgery and have a special interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee in sports injury, including ACL reconstruction and cartilage repair techniques. In addition, I also manage all general orthopaedic trauma, including the acute treatment of upper and lower limb fractures and soft tissue injuries.

I am committed to ensuring the highest quality of care for all of my patients, both in the NHS and private sectors. I deal with every case on an individual and personal basis, allowing time to fully discuss conditions and their treatments before recommending any course of action. All patients undergoing surgery are assured of at least two outpatient appointments prior to their surgery, to ensure all their needs are met and questions are answered.

All patients are enrolled in an internet-based outcome scoring system to allow long term follow up after their surgery and ensure that any concerns can be addressed. I love to hear how my patients are doing after their surgery – often a postcard from far-flung places which they never thought they would be able to visit, or that they have managed to return to their favourite sport following injury.

Having an operation can be a daunting prospect. I assure all of my patients that they will be receiving the very highest standard of care. This includes the application of the most modern anaesthetic and surgical techniques, which deliver the most rapid return to fitness and improved health by a combination of proven interventions including optimal pain medication and rehabilitation protocols. I will only use surgical implants with proven excellent long-term results. In knee ligament surgery, I have adopted a low-morbidity technique for reconstruction using a single hamstring tendon graft, allowing a more rapid post-operative recovery and better knee function than conventional techniques.

Most importantly, I am honest in my approach. If the current scientific evidence is that a patient’s particular condition cannot be helped by surgery, I will advise accordingly.
