Dr Wilson was professional, honest and had a kind good humoured manner before, during preparation for and after my shoulder operation. Thank you

Spoke to me and not at me . Listened to my concerns and was very reassuring . Explained everything he was doing or going to do to me . Had a sense of humour and put me at ease . If I ever needed an anaesthetic again I would really like him to be my anaesthetist .

He was very descriptive about my options, explaining all the pros and cons of each option and gave me plenty of time to make my decision, there was no pressure on me. Was very good at taking my mind off the operation, really easy to talk to, nice bubbly guy which made it a whole lot easier. Really good doctor, lucky to of had him. Would definitely recommend! Thanks James!

I went in to hospital expecting a general anaesthetic for surgery on my wrist but after detailed explanations of all the options from Dr Wilson, I opted for a nerve block in my arm, meaning I was conscious during the operation. It was a daunting prospect but I had full confidence in the team and Dr Wilson put my at ease and kept checking I was OK during the procedure. I was able to talk to Dr Wilson and the surgeon and listen to music through my headphones. In the end I actually found the experience really interesting - it's not often you get to see inside an operating theatre! The only downside was that the nerve block wore off on the way home - much sooner than the anticipated 12 hours - meaning I was in a lot of pain until the painkillers kicked in. But I can't fault the care before and during the procedure.
