After explaining the difference between general and epidural anesthetic I opted for the epidural which was explained as a safer and quicker recovery option. The anethatist explained in a caring and detailed manner. He was reassuring and even asked if I wanted to listen to music. He came to see me in the ward to check everything was ok and explained how I would feel during recovery.

He really put me at ease with his friendly mannerisms and how he explained the options in an easy to understand way which reassured me and made comfortable trusting him before and during surgery. Being able to be awake during surgery allowed me to understand exactly what was being done and I feel will aid my recovery as I can relax knowing how much has gone into looking after me and fixing my arm.

Dr Alibhai treated my mother with dignity,compassion,care and professionalism to the highest standard. He explained the procedure clearly,thoroughly and discussed the risks. He was able to put my mother at ease as my mother had alot of fear and she was able to chose the option of a local anaesthetic rathur than the general as this posed significant risks to her. She felt supported and listened to. Great care was taken during sedation and consideration by asking my mother if she was okay. My mother was very satisfied and reassured by his approach.
