After a recent gallbladder removal by Mr James Hopkins I would find difficulty in trying to suggest improving the experience! I will be ever indebted to Mr Hopkins skill and to that of his dedicated team and to all other supporting staff at Southmead. Best wishes to all

I left my grateful comments one year ago when I had lifesaving surgery from Mr James Hopkins, so one year on, and still going strong, thanks to his skilled handiwork. Daily my wife and I are thankful to him and his team and the whole of Southmead Hospital. Thank you. David and Mary Jefferies.

Mr Hopkins was a true gentleman - he answered my questions giving me the assurances I needed. The approach of the entire team ensured I was in a positive frame of mind right up to the anesthetic. Coming round I was greeted with friendly voices which, along with the care back on ward, helped for a swift recovery. It was good to be able to thank him personally on his rounds before I left the hospital. I just need to examine his needlework and resultant scars when the dressings come off! Thank you.
