I was in a lot of pain and could not walk any distance. I decided to see a consultant at the Rivers Hospital. Mr Kosuge was recommended to me so i booked an appointment.
My first impression was positive as he reassured me that a hip replacement would have me up walking again and riding my bike.
After having the operation Mr Kosuge was around to make sure everything was going well.
The operation is not for the faint hearted and you need to work on your recovery afterwards but it is well worth while and i would have no hesitation having the other hip replaced if needed.
Mr Kosuge has a very pleasant manner and explains everything to you every step of the way i have no hesitation recommending him to anyone that needs hip surgery.

Mr Kosgue provided me with the utmost of care, which resulted in an excellent experience overall. Mr Kosgue took the time to explain everything in detail to me, he answered all of my questions and provided me with complete confidence. The fact that at 93 years of age Mr Kosgue was not only willing to take me on as a patient he was confident in a successful operation outcome. I am now nearly four months post op and I am now walking without pain and have my mobility back which has given me a new lease of life and enabled me to stay independent.
I cannot thank Mr Kosgue enough and praise his abilities as a doctor/surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I look forward to seeing him at the 6 months check and sign off.

Mr Kosuge was very easy to talk to and very keen to get the best results for me and considering what would give me the best outcome. He was happy to spend as much time as I needed and I never felt rushed. Im so glad I found him by looking on this website

From the onset Dr Kosuge gave a level of care that was unparalleled. Considerate, informative and pragmatic advice that was followed by excellent post operation care after a total knee replacement. Mr Kosuge developed his passion for Trauma & Orthopaedics as a junior doctor and pursued this by enrolling onto the North-East Thames Percival Pott Orthopaedic Training Programme. His training took him to prestigious centres including The Royal London Hospital, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. He was inspired by a number of his excellent trainers to focus on the subspecialty of hip and knee joint replacements.
Following completion of specialist training in the United Kingdom, he enrolled onto and successfully completed a one-year fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia under the auspices of Professor Donald Howie. This fellowship allowed Mr Kosuge to refine his skills in hip and knee joint replacements, as well as revision hip replacements. During his orthopaedic training, he was the recipient of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Zimmer Adult Reconstruction Hips and Knees Fellowship in 2014, the AOTrauma Fellowship in 2013 and the Tohoku University Orthopaedic Visiting Fellowship in 2010 – and utilised his time visiting, learning and exchanging ideas with centres of excellence in Japan.
