We had the pleasure of meeting Mr Deji Akiboye when he saw my husband yesterday. He was absolutely wonderful, explaining the condition so clearly and calmly, not to mention his sense of humour which naturally made us feel at ease. The young male medical student and female nurse were also very attentive. We very much hope Mr Akiboye will continue to treat my husband in the future! Sylvia & Edwin Hancock

Had my surgery at Epsom Hospital yesterday what an amazing doctor, he spent time pre op with me explaining the procedure with a member of his team listened to all my worries and concerns, to set my mind at rest. Post op he again came to see me explaining what had been done again answering all my concerns. The whole experience at Epsom from the lad nurse Ann and the team of staff nurses could not have been better. I truly thank Mr Akiboye and the whole team in Day Surgery at Epsom all of you are worth your weight in gold so thank you.

#sayThankYou

Dear Dr Akiboye, thank you so much for your consultation on Wednesday 20th May 2020, However, your support began before that the Saturday before when I was at St Helier's when my UTI was not getting any better, with the collaboration between Dr Joanna Butler. Finally the antibiotics are making a difference and i feel I am getting better. I have to say that the whole of the St Helier experience during these difficult times has been very efficient and sympathetic.

I am a medical student and was lucky enough to be shadowing Mr Akiboye during his ward round. I had been told by other students to expect excellent teaching and it really was. From the outset he made me feel very welcome and he took the time to teach me at every opportunity, explaining everything enthusiastically and at exactly the right level for me. Similarly, with patients he was great and explained everything so clearly.

Profile

I am a Consultant Urologist currently treating patients in Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals Trust. I am a keen teacher of medical students and have spent many years leading the Urology teaching at St George’s Hospital. I also am passionate about keeping fit and playing the piano (classically).
My dream is to give patients the information to make their own informed choices about their healthcare and to give the kind of care I would want my own family to receive.
