Calm and knowledgeable. Truthful and open minded. Skilled use of ultrasound for varicose veins in my clinic appointment

From start to finish, I felt completely assured by Mr David Birchley. The treatment I have had has been outstanding in all respects. I would recommend him wholeheartedly and thank him sincerely for all that he has done to repair my hernias.

A totally positive experience with David. He explained the procedure to me clearly and listened attentively to my questions. After my consultation I had no reservations about going ahead with my surgery and came to the hospital feeling relaxed. Many thanks also to the team at Nuffield Exeter, I could not have had better care.

A lovely Consultant.Very easy to talk to and explains everything clearly. He treated me ten years ago and it was a great success. I have recently seen him again with a similar problem and i have complete confidence that he will do everything possible to get me back to normal.

So far so good!! I went to see Mr Birchley because I was unhappy with the swelling of one leg and a varicose vein which I had had for 50 years. He was so calm and explained everything as he was examing my leg. Once he had done so he told me the options I had. As I was keen not to have surgery which included a general anathestic I opted for Clarivein catheter and foam sclerotherapy. A date was set for this fairly quickly. The procedure took exactly 30 minutes as he said it would. Virtually no pain during the procedure, just the odd pin prick! Mr Birchley explained everyhing he was doing which gave me confidence. I came home all bandaged up and started walking straight away. As instructed, I took the bandage off five days later and as I say so far so good. Not one pain killer needed throughout! I go back to him in six weeks time for to check all is in order! Onwards and upwards! Thank you Mr Birchley!
