I was seen by this doctor twice while in the ward and found him to be informed and aware of my condition. He listened to my concerns and said he would do his best to get me well and home to my family as soon as possible. Thanks Chris
Mr Johnston has carried a couple of procedures (ERCP) recently on me and his care , professionalism and communication with me has been first class in every degree.
He initially told me of the problem , and described the reasons that I was have having the symptoms and then jointly we agreed on the best way forward.
This made me feel really informed and involved in my treatment. His use of sketches was really good at showing me why the problem had occurred and what the procedure would do to resolve it.
He informed me of any small risks involved but with his reassuring manner and calm confidence in his methods, I knew these were minor and that I was in good hands.
This is a surgeon I would recommend.
Mr Johnston is easy to talk to and explains things very clearly and also takes the time to listen to you and answer any queries you may have.I felt he spent as much time as was needed with me and that he was not in any way rushing me and my partner. He was also very accommodating about helping me timetable my next appointment to a date when I was going to be in Edinburgh anyway. A very knowledgeable, professional, courteous Doctor.
I was somewhat concerned going in to my procedure - these concerns evaporated upon my consult with Mr. Johnston. The nursing staff had provided me with information as to how things would go, but every question I offered was fielded with absolute calm, certainty and professionalism.
I could not be more happy with his work, the team surrounding him and the entire staff of the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Chris was a terrific support to me and my family when I was in Hospital. He went above and beyond the call of duty in reassuring me and taking the time to phone family members to also reassure them and answer their questions.
