Mr Gupte has been an excellent doctor throughout my treatment. Having come to Mr Gupte with a long term problem he listened and really got to the bottom of my knee problem. The surgery went very well, everything was explained and clear throughout. I am recovering well and no longer have pain. I have a significantly better quality of life since my less than common knee surgery that he was able to treat effectively.

Mr Gupte had quite a challenge with my knee, a revision procedure after the original quad tendon repair had ripped leaving only a gnarled ball of stiched tendon to work with. He did a fantastic job, and is a thoroughly delightful guy to work with. He was also very responsive to my questions and needs and established close communication with my also excellent sports physio @KarenSlavierophysio so that she was able to push me to the limits with full confidence. This is of course important when trying to recover performance as well as just repair. A great team. Many thanks.

I visited Mr Gupte in March about a knee issue I’d had for a while. He suggested an MRI to see exactly what was going on. He then phoned with the results and spent time thoroughly explaining my various options. I opted for an arthroscopy. This was carried out in May. Mr Gupte was thoroughly professional, knowledgeable and once again explained everything. I’m now 7 weeks down the line, there is a huge improvement in the knees mobility and I’m working on strengthening the muscles to support the knee. Everything is progressing well and I highly recommend this knowledgeable and approachable gentleman.

Very professional from start to finish. Dr Gupte gave me full confidence in what he was doing and also gave me clear instructions to what I am supposed to be doing.

I am speaking as a NHS patient. I have no doubt this surgeon is knowledgeable and has expertise in his area of medicine. However my experience of this consultant was not impressive. He did not go into any detail or explain what his diagnosis was, just provided the name. I was left to google what the condition was and that it's also known as 'The Suicide Disease'. My consultation with him was devoid of any empathy and I felt dehumanised. His exact words were "Sorry, I do not have a magic cure for this", before proceeding to quickly discharge me. He did not arrange to have his physio team work with me, even though physio is a known part of the accepted protocol for my condition. He simply washed his hands of a complex case with a few recommendations, which were never implemented or followed up on. It took me almost 2 years to get physiotherapy and the basic care I deserved at another hospital. The words and actions (or lack of) of this consultant will stay with me forever.
