I have been seeing Mr Agrawal for several years now. He has a direct approach when relaying informaiton, but this is always done in a very empathetic and caring manner; this means that I get the full details of my current situation in a kind and gentle manner. My appointments never feel rushed and he is always very patient, reassuring and happy to answer and re-answer many of my questions. I always leave my appointment feeling reassured and confident that I am in 'good hands'.

I was referred to Mr Agrawal by my consultant dermatologist for the removal of a mole following confirmation of the presence of malignant melanoma. In addition to this I underwent a lymph node biopsy to establish the extent of the cancers development. Mr Agrawal's genuine desire that you absolutely understand the implications of this and what he intends to do about it shone through. He explained everything with a mixture of reality versus compassion. Since the procedure he has monitored my recovery and ensured that his recommended resolution has in fact been achieved. I have been nothing but impressed with Mr Agrawal's conduct of my case and feel comfortable on him helping my nearest and dearest without the blink of an eye. He is an impressive surgeon and a very likeable man. Thank you for all your care.

I cannot praise the care , concern , professionalism and skill of Mr Agrawal and his team enough. He patiently dealt with my concerns , disbelief, questions and was completely aware of my previous medical history. I felt in safe hands throughout the whole process leading to my surgery and beyond . His care was apparent from start to completion of my diagnosis , clinical investigations and surgery . The whole breast care team worked so closely together and I felt supported throughout. To work so skilfully, patiently and so reassuringly in the current climate is extraordinary. I felt at ease throughout the whole experience. December 2020 .

Profile

As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.

I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.

I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.

In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
