I've visited Dr Agrawal on several occasions and would always choose to see him if I needed to go again. He is very efficient in consultations and takes immediate further action when needed. He has a professional, reassuring yet friendly manner which helps you feel at ease at what can be a very worrying time. Would certainly recommend.

Mr Agrawal has exceptional knowledge and skill combined with empathy and a caring approach, this is so critical when the news is devastating. His reassuring approach inspires confidence and I always felt that it was a two way conversation with the benefit of Mr Agrawal’s professional honesty about the best course of action. Mr Agrawal, operated on me for melanoma last year, for which I am now in remission and instilled such confidence in me that I was determined that he also deal with the sebaceous cyst on my scalp. This was dealt with as a minor op in the treatment room, under local aesthetic, in a very professional way. The procedure was very successful with a scar that is difficult to locate on the scalp. He is a consummate professional and more importantly a genuinely caring person. Thanks again for tactfully dealing with an issue which to others might appear trivial but to me was an important to resolve.

Mr Avi Agrawal is an excellent Breast Care Surgeon and I consider myself extremely fortunate to be in his care for my Breast Cancer. I trust him completely and don't see how his care both pre surgery, at the time of surgery and post surgery could be improved.
Profile
As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.
I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.
I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.
In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
