I met Mr Gulihar 2 years ago after having been admitted from A&E. A large lump had appeared on the side of my right shoulder. I first went to A&E and was told to go to my GP. The GP said it could be one of two things and gave me antibiotics. An orthopaedic nurse, who I knew, thought it looked like a dislocation. I then went back to A&E and was told it was an abscess and was admitted immediately with an operation scheduled for the following morning. Mr Gulihar saw me the following morning and said he wanted to know exactly what was in the lump. An ultrasound revealed it was fluid and the whole of the shoulder was badly infected. I was kept in hospital and a week later had the ball part of the shoulder removed and an antibiotic ball inserted. I was kept in hospital for a further 2 weeks on strong antibiotics. The care received from Mr Gulihar was over and above that expected from a Consultant. He even phoned me whilst he was on holiday to say I needed to have a further 6 weeks of daily intravenous antibiotics. He continued to see me regularly for blood tests. A year ago I had a reverse shoulder replacement and he continues to monitor my shoulder regularly. Mr Gulihar has always kept me informed of my treatment and why he was doing it in a very kind and informative way. I must also say his Secretary has been very kind and helpful. I would recommend Mr Gulihar 100%. He is kind, gentle , understanding and explains everything.

Mr Gulihar has been treating me for a shoulder injury, sustained during a fall whilst out road running. There are 4 fractures in total, that he identified following a CT scan and which following his advice have all been healing naturally. Mr Gulihar has always clearly explained my treatment, time frames and answered any questions I had. HIs manner was polite and confident and I always felt as though he fully understood my issues and how to properly treat the injuries sustained. I am about to undergo a significant period of physiotherapy, following his advice and recommendations and hope to make a full recovery. Mr Gulihar's professionalism and expert knowledge has been excellent throughout my treatment at the hospital.

Last year I was very unfortunate to fall badly on my hand, breaking the scaphoid, dislocating it and tearing the ligaments. Being a graphic designer I was extremely worried at how bad my hand was and whether it would ever get back to normal. I needed a surgeon desperately, but all were overbooked and could not operate for at best a week and very likely much longer. I was extremely lucky that Abhi Gulihar found out about me and, understanding the urgency and my concerns, kindly took me on operating late the next day. Less than a year later the only evidence of my accident is the scar that I am left with and you have to look for that to see it. I cannot thank Mr Gulihar enough for saving my hand and also for his calm, reassuring and welcoming manner at every consultation, always taking the time to listen to me and to answer my many questions. As I said to his secretary, if I ever need surgery again I would seek him out and travel a long way if need be. I have enormous faith and trust in him and would not hesitate to recommend him.
