I met Mr Gulihar 2 years ago after having been admitted from A&E. A large. Lump had appeared on the side of my right shoulder. I first went to A&E and was told to go to my GP. the GP said it could be one of two things and gave me antibiotics. An orthopaedic nurse, who I knew, said it looked like a discolation. I then went back to A&E and was told it was an abscess and was admitted immediately with an operation scheduled for the following morning. Mr Gulihar saw me the following morning and said he wanted to know exactly what was in the lump.An ultrasound revealed It was fluid and the whole shoulder was badly infected. I was kept in hospital and a week later had the ball part of the shoulder removed as a antibiotic ball inserted. I was kept in hospital for a further 2 weeks on intravenous antibiotics. The care I received from Mr Gulihar was. Over. And above that expected. From a Consultant. He even phoned me whilstkhe was on holiday to say I needed to have a further 6 weeks of daily intravenous antibiotics. He continued to see me regularly for blood A year ago. I had a reverse shoulder replacement and he continues to monitor my shoulder regularly. Mr has kept me informed of what he was doing and why he was doing it in a very kind and informative way. I must also say his Secretary has been wonderful and helpful. I would recommend Mr Gulihar 100%. He is kind, gentle, understanding and explains everything.
