So I have been in the Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough a few times. The last time that I attended was two days ago. I am still in hospital since then but thought that I would use my time in bed to write this review. I have noticed that on this occasion in particular, everyone from the consultants right to the cleaners have been nothing but polite, friendly and caring whilst maintaining their professionalism. The thing that struck me the most is how clean the hospital has gotten. They even woke me at early hours in the morning to clean the floor of the room that I was in. Trust me , I have been in some dirty hospital and wondered what happened to the days when you would walk into a hospital and it would smell of bleach. Princess Royal has not disappointed me one bit in the least. My only sadness about my visit was to watch the staff rushing around on their feet and wondering if they will ever take a break. To watch in A&E certain members of the population attending this hospital and behaving badly. I don’t think that the other patients or staff should have to put up with this sort of behaviour. Having said that, the staff seems to manage around them to continue with their work and even treat those people with gentleness and politeness. I think that all the staff should be paid very well for the amount of work and dedication that they put into their job. Well done Princess Royal.

Outstanding maternity care I was lucky enough to give birth to my baby in August on the oasis midwife led unit at PRUH. I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible midwife and midwifery student (I think my son was her final birth as a student) who cared for me and my son. They were compassionate, kind, so highly skilled and trusted me to give birth without intervening. They listened to me and my partner. As a second birth after a traumatic birth, it was a really healing experience and I am hugely grateful to the incredible midwives. Care on the assessment unit and postnatal ward was also excellent although of course this can be a chaotic environment. PRUH midwives, you have all my gratitude and respect, thank you for what you do often under extremely challenging circumstances

Surgery and appointments were at Queen Mary's Sidcup. The department is immaculate and you are seen in a timely manner. The staff are very friendly and supportive. There is plenty of information on eye conditions and treatments. I would not want to be seen anywhere else.

Unfortunately the NHS system philosophy does not cater for preventive medicine. But, fortunately, when it comes to emergencies, it does delivery well. I cannot complain about the care my husband and I have had under those circumstances at the Prices Royal. I am sure if the NHS worked more on prevention, the amount of emergencies would be very different, and the resources would be much more plentiful.

I have been a patient at the PRU hospital for over 4 years and have always been very well looked after whilst in the hospital as a patient and now with the hospital after care. I had been in discomfort recently and contacted my consultant whom at very short notice arranged to see me in the Ambulatory Unit. I attended the unit today & after an examination my consultant put my worries to rest. Despite the hospital being very busy due to the horrible covid outbreak i was still seen very quickly which i appreciate very much. I was a bit worried attending the hospital with the pandemic but felt very safe at all times. So big thank you to the hospital my consultant and her teams for always being there for me,.

I had shoulder surgery with Dr Abhinav Gulihar at Orpington hospital in Nov 2019, I cannot thank him enough for the excellent Care I received and for all the Hard work he did on my arm to get it working as it should, also for the after care and concern that I was happy with the work he had done, Thank you very much Dr Gulihar.
