I was with my friend and her very sick husband in A&E on Thursday 10/8 from approx 19.00 and I left at 23.00.
This was a difficult situation because my friend's husband has been very ill for a long time and suddenly got a lot worse. Very frightening for them both.
The first doctor we saw 'Charles' a locum ? SHO was excellent and thorough and assessed and examined him very expediently with good communication skills even though he had not worked at the PRUH before - this was reassuring. ( he was very gentle)
The next doctor we saw was 'Alex' a CT1 who had just started on the medical team at the PRUH. You could tell he had read the notes and was swift and experienced and absolutely knew his stuff again we were reassured.( a confident doctor)
The nurse who looked after us was a Spanish male nurse who was very kind, energised and efficient.( and happy!)
All in all I was impressed with this level of care as this is my local hospital I felt reassured and confident that the services seems to work well.
