I met Mr Gulihar 2 years ago after having been admitted from A&E . A large lump had appeared on the side of my right shoulder. I first went to A&E and was told to go to my GP. The GP.said it could be one of two things, an orthopaedic nurse, who I new, said it looked like a dislocation. I then went back to A&E and was told it was an abscess and was admitted immediately at 12 pm with an operation scheduled for the following morning. Mr Gulihar saw me the following morning and said he wanted to know.exactly what was in the lump. An ultrasound.revealed sit was fluid and the whole shoulder was badly infected. I was kept in hospital and a week later had the ball part of the shoulder removed and an antibiotic ball inserted. I was kept in hospital a further 2 weeks being treated with antibiotics. The careI received from Mr Gulihar was over and above that expected from a Consultant. He even phoned whilst he was on holidays to say I needed a further 6 weeks of daily intravenous antibiotics. A year ago I had a reverse shoulder joint replacement and he continues to monitor my shoulder regularly. Mr Gulihar has always kept me informed of what he was doing and why he was doing it in a very kind and informative sway. I must also say his Secretary has been very caring and helpful. I would recommend Mr Gulihar 100%. He is kind, gentle and understanding and explains saevrything.
