From start to finish of my appointments withDr Ram he made you feel at ease. He explained everything what possibly could be going on and the reasons why he was going to be doing the my scan and colonoscopy. I would certainly recommend Dr Ram to any of my friends & family which for me says everything about the doctor.

Dr Ram is the third Gastro Dr I have seen. I was diagnosed with Chronic IBD aged 27. I am now 43. I lived for twelve years with dreadful pain, bleeding and problems relating to the condition and with previous Consultants had been made to feel that I was depressed, had psychological problems and should just get on with it because it a life-long condition. I had absolutely given up hope of ever being able to feel well and pain free. Then I met Dr Ram. Firstly, let's chat about his bedside manner. Dr Ram is absolutely lovely. He listened about the pain, sensitively understood and always thought about what he could do to improve the situation. He is kind, applies thought to his conversation and is sensitive when he listens. Secondly, his knowledge. He is incredibly knowledgeable. His way of explaining the issues is really clear. He bases his explanations on facts, in simple, non-patronising vocabulary. This is something that was severely lacking from previous Consultants in my care. Thirdly, his ability to manage my condition. This is where he has excelled. We have trialled different medications until we got the right balance for me. I have now been pain free for 5 months. I am no longer bleeding. I feel reassured about there being no changes that could be more sinister. His care has been exceptional. Never once have I felt out of control. I have felt heard in the Consultations. He is sensitive to the delicate nature of my condition and has always put me at ease with any personal elements of the testing process. Dr Ram has changed my life. I have every faith in his care and would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone. Thanks you for all have done.

Attentive, compassionate, gentle, patient and thoughtful - I was extremely nervous but he made me feel at ease and not a time waster. He organised many tests and procedures regardless of cost, but, unfortunately, nothing could be done for me...I wasn't surprised though. He did everything he could. I don't have much trust in doctors but I trusted Dr Ram more than any I've ever met .... a lovely man and a true gentleman.

Dr Ram has been amazing, he listened to everything I told him when my doctor was giving up, he found my problems and gave me the news in a very professional yet friendly manner. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a consultant in this field, absolutely brilliant

Dr Ramakrishnan (Dr Ram) saved my life basically. He's also a great guy, easy to talk to and you get the feeling he genuinely cares about the health of his patients. He puts you at ease and you feel on the same level as him which is refreshing these days when speaking to any consultant about your health issues. Earlier this year I was in severe abdominal pain for several months. The pains were becoming more frequent and more intense. I visited Dr Ram privately and he suggested a capsule endoscopy. However my condition continued to worsen. After several trips to A&E in agony i had lost 20kg and my skin was turning yellow. An ultrasound showed multiple stones and a large 1.5cm stone blocking my common bile duct. That night, in agony again, i decided this time to go to Warrington General instead of my local hospital as i knew Dr Ram would be there the next day. I managed to make it through the night and the next day Dr Ram performed an emergency ERCP procedure. He broke down and removed the stone, took biopsies, inserted a 4cm stent, performed a sphincterotomy and a balloon trawl. The operation was a big success. By that time i already had pancreatitis so it was a close call. That night on the ward, after my op, i had the best Jacket Potato of my life, it was the first time i had been able to eat food without pain in several months. 2 months later Dr Ram performed another successful ERCP to remove the stent and make sure all was clear which thankfully it was. A subsequent follow up MRI and ultrasound showed that thanks to Dr Rams operating skills my gallbladder and ducts were completely clear of all sludge and stones. The ultrasound did show a small 3mm polyp in my gallbladder which I will be keeping a close eye on. If you need a gastroenterologist i would highly recommend Dr Ramakrishnan.
