Dr Dempsey took over as my consultant some 17 years ago from Profesor James Frend who had seen me through a very difficult time as a result of a house fire where by i suffered very bad lung damage and for a long time it was touch and go by the time Dr Dempsey took over as my consultant i was getting on as best i could but it was not good now i must admit when i had my first consultation with him i was kind of well you are not going to make any difference in how the state of my lungs are and how i can best get through each day well how wrong i was, now let me say this how i am hear today writing this review is vastly down to me in my fighting sprit but also if it was not for Dr Dempsey i dont think i would be hear he let me understand and learned me about my lung damage and how best to manage it and the best medacation to help me in my long term battle over the years all i can say is this man is worth his wait in gold there realy is not any constructive suggestions i could give as reagards how better he could improve in his professionalism and level of service to his patients who ever you are all i can say you are in safe hands. Referred by local GP for chest consultation early November. Dr Dempsey immediately put me at my ease and a meaningful rapport was quickly established. Case history discussed in depth, tests carried out fully explained before and during process. I was given a clear picture as to what would happen next and left feeling re-assured. Dr Dempsey's subsequent consultation report was concise, very comprehensive and received in accordance with timescale he had given (as was subsequent CT scan report). His action to ensure his fees were kept to a minimum was also much appreciated. Very professional and understanding - if such consultations could ever be described as a pleasure then this was one. I owe him a rum & crabbies.

From the minute Dr. Dempsey comes to welcome you , his wonderful manner is apparent. He always seems genuinely pleased to see his patients ,he is caring and kept me well informed throughout any consultation I had with him. My condition has improved enormously with the treatment he recommended to my GP surgery. Dr. Dempsey instilled confidence in me and I felt I was in the best hands. I can honestly say I don't see anyway Dr. Dempsey could improve his care it is exemplary. Add to all this a good sense of humour applied at just the right times,

I first met Dr Dempsey 15 years ago when he was SR, when I was an inpatient. He took over my care as consultant several years later. Dr Dempsey is an excellent physician, thorough, caring and empathic. He listens closely and reflects back appropriately discussing positive options of treatment. I have huge respect for him in regard to his diagnostic skills, ongoing review of my disease and up to date knowledge of recent studies and drug treatments. Dr Dempsey routinely dictates the letter to my GP prior to ending the consultation, which is much appreciated, more consultants should follow this practice. If the Nhs could clone Dr Dempsey it would be a better place!!
