Dr Kwan has more than 24 years of clinical experience in stroke, rehabilitation, internal medicine & gerontology.

He has qualified from Bristol Uni (MB ChB 1994), Southampton Uni (MPhil 2000), Edinburgh Uni (MD 2002), UCL Institute of Neurology at Queens Square (PG Certificate in Clinical Neurology with distinction 2006), Cornell Uni (Plant-based Nutrition 2015) and Uni of California San Francisco (Dementia Scholarship 2015).

Dr Kwan has worked as a stroke consultant since 2006, visiting professor of medicine at Bournemouth Uni (2009-20), medical director for regional stroke network (2008-10), and clinical associate professor of medicine at Hong Kong Uni (2014-18). His NHS work is at Imperial College London as the senior acute stroke consultant, stroke researcher, medical educator & professional examiner. He has published over 120 scientific articles and book chapters, and won several major awards.
