I was very concerned after the initial diagnosis by my GP which essentially said I had a life-threatening condition and he referred me for tests three months later. I couldn't wait that long if I really could drop dead at any minute so I contacted the Spire Hospital and decided to consult the wonderful Dr Fazal privately. He immediately put my mind at rest after one look at my ECG (there is no substitute for a specialist who understands instantly what he is seeing). He recommended me for further tests, including echo, treadmill etc and was the epitome of the phrase "peace of mind is priceless". What I absolutely loved about my interactions with Dr Fazal were the speed that he got things done and his extremely detailed and quick communications via e-mail. To have a specialist of the standard of Dr Fazal on tap in this way is indispensable and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who wants superb service from someone who knows their stuff and knows how to put people at ease. would highly recommend Dr Fazal for anyone with a heart problem etc..

My father had a new mitral valve fitted to his heart 9 years ago. Following this he received a pacemaker which helped his heart to function along with medication for heart failure. Almost 2 years ago, similar symptoms of tiredness, dizziness and shortness of breath returned, triggering concerns of more issues like when his initial journey began. Following an annual review with Dr Fazal, he agreed to ‘upgrade’ his pacemaker in the hope this would give him a better quality of life and hopefully reduce the symptoms. In September 2018, a CPT-P was fitted at Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield by Dr Fazal and his team. His care, compassion and understanding were unfaultable and put my father and myself at ease before, during and after the procedure. All elements were thoroughly explained and our questions and concerns answered thoroughly. Whilst the process was a little tricky, his determination ensured that this was a success and the improvement in my father’s health has been remarkable. Our family would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Fazel. He is patient, caring and works tirelessly to try and provide a solution to the most complex of issue.

After extensive research, I asked to be referred to Dr Fazal to investigate my low pulse rate problem. I felt that his area of expertise, experience and qualification could help me find a solution. I attended the new Spire Hospital, Tollerton, Nottingham. This facility has it's own cardiology department equipped with a dedicated operating theatre and the apparatus necessary to test, treat and carry out cardiac procedures. At my initial consultation Dr Fazal explained that I wasn't an obvious candidate for pacemaker implantation. He arranged a series of tests and investigations, which took place over a relatively short period of time. The results combined with my own observations enabled him to identify the cause. A specific type of pacemaker was implanted shortly afterwards. The implantation procedure wasn't unpleasant, Dr Fazal put me at ease and explained his actions as he carried them out. Within 24hours I felt the benefit. My pulse rate and blood pressure are now within the normal parameters. No longer suffer from lethargy late evenings and early mornings, ceased taking blood pressure tablets. Very satisfied with the outcome, and thank Dr Fazal for resolving the problem.

In June my N.H.consultant suggested I needed a pacemaker to treat my atrial flutter and suggested I go on the waiting list.At the age of 86 waiting lists are not advisable! So I decided to have a private operation.Accordingly my pacemaker was fitted by Dr. Fatal on 18 June with no waiting.Any trepidation on my part was totally unfounded.Mr. Fatal and his team are obviously seasoned professionals and the op.lasted 45 mins..Ther was no discomfort or pain and there never has bèen in the ensuing 5 weeks. In fact I was surprised how little my normal routine has been affected apart from a ban on violent exercise on the rowing machine!I am looking forward to getting back on my bike when 6 weeks are up. I would like to think that my General fitness has been a factor in my recovery, but I have a feeling that Mr. Canals competence as a surgeon has contributed more than any physical prowess on my part. The care I received at Spire hospital has been exemplary and I would heartily recommend Mr. Fatal to anyone concerned about their heart condition. Many Thanks, Ron Phillips.

From my very first meeting with Dr Fazal following severe heart failure whilst on holiday he provided a first class service and was extremely reassuring as to the treatment and procedure required to return my heart pump function to normal. This was such a relief following discussions I had had with other consultants both abroad and here in the UK which had left me very concerned for my future health. Throughout all my dealings with Dr Fazal he has been great to deal with, accessible and very informative. My heart pump function was returned to normal through treatment 4 months after first seeing Dr Fazal . I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Fazal to anyone with heart failure, atrial fibrillation or any other heart condition.
